   I admire the cinematography in this movie but that ending come on? That is by FAR worse than No Country For Old Men's ending. I mean what was the point of watching this movie for 3 hours, the movie is called Atonement, and does this bitch really think that by writing a book that these characters get back together in will make up for what she did? Please man, and don't hate on my girl kiera knightly, i mean yeah shes skinny, but i'd rather go at that skeleton all day than some chubby girl. Fuck you who ever made me watch this movie

  I agree with this review ten folds. Amazing movie, Great acting from the cast. Especially Keira Knightley and James McAvoy who absolutely shined in this movie with nothing but stellar performances and brilliant direction from Joe Wright. The fact that this movie wasn't nominted by it's main actors and actresses and a BS movie like Juno and a Ho Hum performance from Ellen Page and mediocre writing from Diablo Cody getting nominated is just criminal. PS: I agree with Typicalexbf. Keira Knightley is a naturally skinny woman who is talented and beautiful. She doesn't need to change at all and she doesn't look like she was going to die (I thought the jokes were funny though) Good review guys.

  Good movie, with lots of drama. Its the typical romantic film with betrayal, passion and tears. It also has some moments of mystery. The story is set around a forbidden romance, and how one lie from a young girl who misunderstands a series of situations not meant for her perception result in incomprehensible tragedy for three lives. The first hour of the movie is quite interesting, with a good rhythm, the next half hour turns to be a little slow almost to tiresome for my taste until the last half hour when all the issues begin to resolve. The movie set is amazingly recreated in its first part in the England of the late 30's and then in the early 40's on WWII. The cast is wonderful, Keira Knightley with an outstanding performance as Cecilia Tallis, James McAvoy also with a great acting job and Saoirse Ronan on an excellent role that deserve her a Oscar nomination. Definitely a good and interesting movie worth to see.

  I hate to say this but although the cinematography was hands down amazing in this film, I feel it took away from the actual story because it became stretched out and long. Also, The relationship between Cecilia and Robbie was not established very well in the begining of the movie, leaving me emotionally unaffected to most of what happened to them. The ending is amazing though, and the way this story was put on film is unique and quite visually breath taking. So, as I said teh only ick about it is the way they established "love" between Cecilia and Robbie.

  Pretty good movie but just way too long. For intance that tracking shot was a great technical achievement but it just dragged on longer than it needed to. I liked the acting quite alot particularly McAvoy and as you guys said the cinematography was good but at the end of the day the movie bored me quite a bit in parts and even the great emotional payoff at the end couldn't quite make up for that.

  I just got back from this one. I thought it was just ok. I liked Kiera Knightly and her co-star but that little sister was one creepy dead eyed bitch! I have older sisters and I had crushes on their boyfriends but that chit was ridiculous. The way they shot it I thought maybe she was mistaken. What a bitch! And Kiera is very very thin but some women are just naturally thin like that. I'm no longer thin like that but in my younger days I was and having to explain why to people was stupid..I just was. Have a kid or two..she'll be cured. lol. Is it Oscar worthy? Not to me.

  I think people may be missing the fact that she could be naturally skinny, it happens. The one thing that stuck out besides how great this movie looked is the word Guinesslol What a lovely word!

  I don't understand why these woman keep getting skinnier and skinnier. Everyone I know looks at them and comments on how sickly they look. If you ask me a healthy looking woman is the sexiest kind there is. Luckily no one asked me.
