Never saw it in 3D, but I have to give it a some ol' bullshit. It tread a bit too much in the uncanny valley for me. It looked pretty cool most of the time, but every once in a while it just dipped into that valley where my mind got stuck on the fact that this wasn't real life on the tv. If the story was a bit better and a bit closer to the epic poem or if I was watching with cool 3D effects, I would have maybe forgiven that and been able to concentrate on the movie itself, but I really couldn't do that just watching at home.

Rental. This movie was good during the fights, if you pay attention to the fights and not to Beowulf being naked. Now why the hell do we need a naked man fighting? I can deal with them in their underwear, but not naked. Also, the story of the movie seemed a little bland and predictable at times. I did like the CG. It was very good and through almost all the movie, I thought this was live action.

This movie sucks big time. The characters seem to be made out of wax. A waste of time.

i really gotta disagree with the way grendal was portrayed in this movie. In the poem or w/e, grendal was supposed to be this terrible monster, like a demon, who was just pure evil... but in this movie they made him look like a scared retarded child. Sure he was big and scary looking but it seemed like he was just attacking things because he was afraid and misunderstood or something, with those screaming noises he made and stuff. With this movie you should really be rooting for beowulf to kill this thing, and I almost felt bad for grendal

Loved the story, loved the cg, loved action. But as a 3d artist, the cg totally died in times when they handle things with their hands and they're fingers are robotic, they're eyes are dead too, And the people who animated the horses obviously did not use reference. John Malkoviches monologue during his ridiculing of Beowulf really put down his ability as an actor, even though I know he's an amazing actor. Meh, High matinee for me. And I'll just watch Gia to see Angelina's num nums

I have to strongly dissagree with your rating on this one (for once). If you read the poem thingy (which i had to do for school work) youll realize that the poem thingy is soooo much better than the book. The movie is a lot different (just like carlyle said). But i still think the movie sucked.......Wait i didnt know the movie was shown in 3D! What the hell? And i just dont understand why Beowulf has to get naked when he fights Grendel.

Korey, I agree, you gotta stop callin women bitches and hos. Shit how would you like it if I called your momma and grandmamma a bitch and ho? If you don't I'm gonna hunt you down and invite every female on this site to a party to slap the shit out of you and scream shit at you as well. Might hit you with some high heels too, don't think those spike heels don't hurt, they puncture waterbeds and will leave your ass punctured as well. Ok, why does grendels mom (jolie) have on high heels? They were not invented at this point. This is where this leaves the time period and becomes hollywood bull shit. She should have like Hobbit feet. But y'all wouldnt dig her as much with Hobbit feet. Korey I am puttin yo ass on notice bout that bitch and ho shit. Love ya boo!

I got to see the first showing of it in Washington state at the Boeing Imax theatre on the 15th for the Beowulf bash. With beer in hand in the movie theatre, I watched a great 3D experience for the first hour. As the movie continued into the second hour, I feel the animation went down a little but the 3D experience did not. Animation with the characters and their movements and facial expressions Reminded me of Pixar to much. Meaning, I felt Like Shrek should be jumping out at anytime. By no means is this a movie for the younger kids though. Especially in 3D. Blood goes everywhere! The last battle scene was good though with the exception of what Beowulf did to himself to win. See the movie to understand what I mean. Also I expected larger role for Angelina Jolie. She was a great seductress in the movie but did not have a big part in this movie. I would say the movie was ok. I give it a 7 out of 10. See it in 3D if you can. It will make this film a much better experience guaranteed! I would not see this in a regular theatre.

This movie was not that great, the 3-d was not remarkable and the plot was obviously stretched out, regardless worth a matinee.

I just saw Beowolf last night with a friend and we both really enjoyed it. Beowolf was one badass motherfucker. And it was actually really nice to hear some ancient nordic spoken by people like Angelina Jolie. The animation was extremely good I think and the movie is really recomendable. All in all good and entertaining movie.

Is grendal secretly the Grand Hall. A place for the hearing of great stories & fornication. The name Bee-o-wolf = buzzhowl two different sounds. He liked to hear puffed up songs sung about him. Rather than have buffed up sons running around him. Bee-o-wolf punched the big ear of grandhall & out came a lot of hot air and he was reduced to a normal stature. Was it wierd how the word mother sounded like murder. The cup or horn never blown instead it was a cup of cornucopia for drinking and fornication. (Symbolic of grand mom, if urgot the cup urgot mom). The torn arm wraped in chain and mail and the punching into the dragon voice box to get at the hart. gold is the rotting grand hall story of the life of the gOd (ON A SIDE KNOTE.) Is Hamlet realy Beeowolf?

This movie was pretty good. It goes with the whole theme being set by 300. Not historical at all, but fun and mostly graphically pleasing.
