i was amazed at how good this show was and it was very original for me (keywords: for me - based on what i have seen before movie wise). At first though, i was a little disappointed at the ending of this movie but shortly afterwardz i realized how perfect it was as it fitted the realistic, real life, direction that the film intended, and did in my opinion, portray. My main feelingz about the movie can be seen in Marc Savlov's, of The Austin Chronicle, description of the film, as "the most intense and original creature feature I've seen in my adult moviegoing life [...] a pure-blood, grade A, exhilarating monster movie" .My only critique of the show would be that of the monster that killed Hud, it could have looked a little more realistic. I'll agree though with the spill crew's rating, it deserved it.

Spill crew, you realize this is the highest rated movie on your website right? You know how that makes you look? You guys gave 2 matinees and 1 some ol bullshit to No Country, but this piece of crap blair witch project ripoff with cardboard cutout actors and a rankor body double monster at the end is the best movie you have ever reviewed on this site? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?! Wow, that's all I gotta say....wow...

People just don't get it do you. The ending was great. It's realistic. The movie is supposed to put you in the point of view of the victim of a disaster film, and it does so perfectly. Also, the design for the Cloverfield monster is original and creative. And yes, you do get a good view of it. People these days just lack imagination and have to have everything spelled out to them. I can understand why people do not like the shaky cam, but it effectively carries out the story it wants to tell.

I saw this again with my brother and I enjoyed it more. This movie was brave, risky and the risk worked. FULL PRICE!!! I looked at the alternate endings, and they were all the same. I want the editors to make a better ending. If so, this would be Better than Sex. :(

I just watched this movie, and it is definitely BETTER THAN SEX! I don't know about anyone else, but to me, it seemed like every time they showed the monster, it's completely different looking than the last time they showed him.

Not sure why people are hating on the shaky cam. This movie came out two years ago, it most certainly wasn't the first film to use shaky cam but it wasn't all that common. I remember this movie coming out and being a bug success, then a few months later dozens of shitty films with no budget for a Steadicam. Yeah, looking at it now shaky cam is a bit cliche but not so much in '08.

It was well directed and the story was good, but God Damn it, it is no classic that it needs full price. Shacky cam? No. Show the monster and better ending? Never in the movie. Going back to shacky cam, Cinemagraphy should be smoothe, like uh... like... Moulin Rouge. Odd and weird movie but look at the postioning of the camera and all those kick-ass sequences. This movie was... Matine or Rental. Matine to be like a pro critic.

This movie gets some ole bull shit from me. Shaky cam sucks too little of the monster.

The only thing I can compare this film to is the first time you watch the original Friday the 13th. The entire film, you only catch glimpses of this person whom is going around this campsite killing people, just like in this film with this bigass monster running around destroying everything. When the villains are finally revealed in both movies, you're saying "Holy shit I didn't see that coming!" because your imagination fills in the blanks. Granted, Friday the 13th didn't leave nearly as many questions unanswered as Cloverfield, but still you get my point.

This movie is Some ole Bullshit not Better Than Sex. I hate how they make movies that look like home movies. This movie made no sense. A big ass monster with giant crabs on its back terrorizes Manhattan. The shaky camera was annoying as hell. Definitely NOT better than sex

Low Full Price! I HATED the beggining and ending but everything in the middle was genius.

Many people didn't like this but... I agree, BETTER THAN SEX!! This was like a cross between The Blair Witch Project and Godzilla... only better. J.J. knows how to both scare and entertain; not once was I bored during this movie. I loved the hell out of it, and I can watch this over and over again and still love the hell out of it. Definitely Better than Sex, and I can't wait for the next one.
