i gave this a high rental because it was so slow, the confusion of Ray Winston's character and also Mel Gibson's silly boston accent. but the performance of Mel gibson was good.

It's Mel Gibson's Taken and to me, it felt like a ripoff of Taken but at the same time, the movie was good. I gave it a MATINEE!!

The script was indeed amazing, Carlyle. The Evil Corporation needs Mel Gibson dead, but they need it to look like an accident. How do they do it? They consult Ray Winstone, who comes up with (or shrugs off) such brilliant suggestions as: Follow him around all the time in expensive, black and/or corporately-owned vehicles; Kill everyone Mel Gibson comes in contact with with bullets or said expensive cars; Poison him with rare, radioactive isotopes; Kidnap him and do something so ridiculous it'll blow your mind. A convincing plot such as this needs brilliant acting to back it up, of course: Mel Gibson, as a regular-joe with the only thick Boston accent in a Massachusetts full of British actors; Ray Winstone, as a fat corporate cleaner/adviser/philosopher/ninja; Danny Huston, not just the wimpiest character in the movie who trembles repeatedly at the sight of a gun, but also a cold-blooded sociopath and head of an Evil Corporation; Damian Young, as a rich, airy-voiced cartoon character playing a Republican senator who likes to frequently remind the audience that "weapons manufacturing is an important part of the Massachusetts economy". According to film critics like Dave White, Edge of Darkness is the mainstream version of Taken, minus the "grim reactionary politic[s"]al plot where the tough dad's daughter is kidnapped in a foreign country by sex traffickers.

I don't know why, but I liked that part where Cyrus had wet, dripping hair. Nice little animation bit there.

I just love those ending of your reviews guys. "Keep the camera rolling" and I laughed so hard when the guy who said that was just smiling as the hobo was on fire.
