    I bought this on blu ray and watched the Extended Cut and it's so much better, they establish the three characters as kids knowing each other a lot better

    Didn't expect much from the movie, so wasn't really pissed nor impressed. It onl made the GL saga to be aware in ppl, but unless your a fan, not much to be wowed in the movie. Only disappointment is that its Martin Campbell's movie. Shocking considering Martin's good at first time movies (Mask of Zorro, Casino Royale).

    I personally thought the movie was good, but it didnt follow the comics at all. The way the introduced hector hammond in this movie is totally wrong, also they way sinestro got his yellow ring was wrong too. They should of followed more into the comic books orgin instead of the writers thoughts and then i would of been a full price summer super hero film, but for what it is, it cant be anything more then just a matinee.

    Tons & tons of cheese in this flick!...not sure why they didn't go with the Black-Cajun Green Lantern & use Michael Jai White as the Ring Wearing Fool!...GREEN DYNOMITE!!!

    Most people still have DVD players, BluRay is still growing, everyone hasn't caught on because it is still rather expensive.

    @Steven Smith

    People who have dvd players still rent dvd's. People who can't see the point in spending extra money for something that really doesn't make that much of a difference visually or audibly, still rent DVD's.

    Rent it on DVD?  Who the fuck still does that? Blu Ray son!

    Saw the movie today.  Definate Matinee.  It wasn't that bad, but I feel like they shoud've given some characters more screen time, like having the other Green Laterns have more time so we can get to "know" the characters a little more.

    They said they're planning a sequel, so we'll know from there.

    They gave this a rental? Are they MAD? This movie was great. And they considered Scream4 better than green lantern? They considered Ironman2 better than this movie? Lol, dunno, think you all just didnt give this movie a chance or Ryan a chance, or maybe just jealous of him. If you consider Ironman 2, Thor (villain being an Earth Stood Still robot knock off), or Xmen First Class better than this movie, something is seriously wrong here. Not all heroes need to be emo, gruff, or rich playboys; they can be poor playboys too lol.  Guess what Im saying here is, like in video games, ppl are so used to seeing poo brown environments, but throw in a little color and it instantly becomes fruity... think you all judged this too harshly

    I really can't wait for the Dark Knight Rises, I'm sick of these mediocre super hero films.

    I saw this last night and i enjoyed it, i would give it a Matinee. Better than the Fantastic 4 movies and the wolverine but pales in comparison to X-Men first class and Thor.

     I thought peter sarsgaard was creepy, they way he said hello was great. but once he got disfigured all i could think was Eric Stoltz would have been wondering why they didn't cast him, he already has the fucked up head from the movie mask. haha

    Blake Lively looked HOT.

    and being a Kiwi myself it was nice to see a couple of Kiwi actors in there.

    just saw this joint....only thing bad it had going for it was it's superhero movie predecessor ......Dark KNight, Thor and Iron Man were just too good. If it were'nt for those movies being out and them being the "standard" of what a superhero "must"..Green Lantern would have been billion star movie. With that said i thought the movie was damn dope. i'll be getting this on them dvd's and blu ray rays

    I just saw the movie  and I am not a major green lantern fan but I would say it a low matinee for me there were some cool part to the movie mostly anything in space on Oa the lantern planet and some average part to the movie. To finish  I would tell all the hard green lantern fan ( co-host 3000) to send  a lot of tweets to DC  and WB to get Nolan to do the sequel to the movie.

    The way this back story was written made it so a deeper secret could lie. In the comic book series the power of both green and yellow came from beings of the same color. Paralax was able to posses other beings (he did it to Hal at least twice). This was a secret of the guardians for a long time (paralax was trapped in the the Green Lantern module along side of the green being I just spoke of. That's why for the longest time Green Lantern's weakness was anything yellow). What I'm trying to say is that, the story could still be used in agreement with the comic series. If they wanted to.

    @CraftyAndy Parallax did not have a back story? Um, did you see the film? He was a guardian who thought he can use the yellow power for good and it turned against him. Is that not back story?  Also, remember that super hero movies almost never follow the original comic's story.
