Now, I never saw it on stage before but I already think this is one of the best film adaptations of a musical. Nikki Blonski was perfect for this role, especially since she got skipped out of the lead in the broadway version, so you know that she has the chops to play this part. While John Travolta was funny as the mother, I still feel a little scarred. My Travolta record isn't that expansive, it's basically: Grease, Pulp Fiction, and this. Do you see the jump there? That isn't a very natural progression into womanhood...

I caught the end of this movie just now, it actually didn't seem that bad, I actually quite liked the song at the end.

I thought the original was way way better than this, the actors in this are better but it shouldn't be a musical + the original was harder hitting

To be honest I really don't think that John Travolta makes a very convincing woman at all.

I thought that it was an ok movie (not amazing like "Dreamgirls" but better than most of the other stuff that is out there now). I agree that the Niki girl is very talented and I hope she will continue to do well. It would have improved if i) there was no creepy Zac Efron in it and ii) no Travolta. It grossed me out to see him play a girl being chased by Voight.

The plot was like every other damn chick flick out there, I really hated the music, and let's not forget that John Travolta was in a dress, so I give this movie "Some ol Bulls**t"
