.... you're seriously giving it a lower score because of the lack of Voldemort? You're kidding me, right? The less I see of that awful and goofy performance, the better.

I give this movie a Low Matinee only because even though this movie did have some dark elements in it, and it definitely had some funny moments to it, I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as I did the other films. I thought story wise I thought the movie was weak because it seemed to focus too much on the kids and their relationships, and not enough of trying to figure out who even the Half-Blood Prince or even what was going on with Voldemort and his followers.

I'm more with Leon about this movie. A solid Full Price. Probably the funniest gag in this is are the scenes when Harry is under the influence of Felix Felicus. The luck it gave him made his enthusiasum seem pretty funny.

Low Full Price. I am a Harry Potter fan, and after Order of the phionex, which sucked, I was glad that such a great film. The problem is the love potion scene which seemed to take forever. Love scenes never work in movies and it didn't work for this.

I watched only 1st potter movie and then this one. Now, i dont know anything about the books and how much this movie ressembles the book storylike, but i found the whole midlle part of movie, the one with the love potions and teenage "love is in the air" part just too long and quite boring. For me it was quite nice to watch at crib with sister so it feels like a good rental even for people like me who arent into the story of the series.

i like the harry potter series but i agree with you guys with the story and stuff but it annoyed me to much that i would say some ol bull shit. i was on moviefone n they put valdamort #1 on there greatest villian of all time, wtf!?! what has he done in this series. 1st one he was a head, 2nd he was a snake n got stabbed, 3rd not even in it just mentioned, 4th he finallys does something killing edward cullen, 5th tries to posses harry, in this one again does nothing. now how is that a better villain then darth vader, the joker, hannibal lector, haz gruber?

This movie was pure crap. Yes, the acting was pretty good, but the story was butchered and gutted. They turned Harry Potter into an dramatic teen romance story to appeal to the major audiences that like that crap. It's pathetic. At best, this movie deserved a low rental. I would give it a "Some Old Bullsh*t" or even a "F*ck you". David Yates has destroyed the Harry Potter films.

This was good, I don't know that I can rank it because it is the 1st section of a 2 section movie, because it was one book. I may be biased though because I really love the book series and love watching how they are transformed into movies. Movie Questions

How I rank the Harry Potter films: 1.Goblet of Fire (perfect setting, a few laughs, great action scenes, and Voldemort is awesome!) 2.Chamber of Secrets (Has a charm, great music, fantastic set design, and great action scenes) 3.Sorcerer's Stone (Everything from CoS except for the action scenes; they were OK) 4.Order of the Phoenix (Meh... it was OK. Some things were left unexplained, but those things in particular weren't that important. The action scenes were awesome, though.) 5.Half-Blood Prince (Lacks action, but still a little dramatic, as well as humorous.) 6.Prisoner of Azkaban (One of the most overrated films ever! It's brief, dull, and unappealing.) I'd give Half-Blood Prince a Matinee.

I generally don't mind it when a movie is made from a book, and has to cut a bit out. Lord of the Rings wasn't too bad, it certainly seemed to be better than most others including the animated version that I fondly remember from years back. But when a movie almost throws away any real character development, plot development, and any coherency in the movie itself...that's a complete mistake. I didn't mind, even enjoyed the first few, but when it came to Goblet of Fire and where it made absolutely NO sense if you took the movie by itself, what's the point? The latest one, the subject of this review, watches like an incoherent montage of special effects scenes mixed with a whole load of fanservice, as it's more about sexuality than the plot/setting. Sweet statutory, what the hell did they do to the plot? So many details were changed from the books, and apparently for special effects and eyecandy reasons, that some things simply become annoying to lots of viewers who have read the books at length. They spend less time enjoying the movie and more time comparing what was omitted or lost (minor points can be omitted, but major ones should be kept), and to me that seems to be a failure in presentation when many of these points are vital to character/plot development. It's like they ran into "Uh, guys, you realise we only have 15 minutes left of movie time..." "Oh, crap, that's right, we have to kill off Dumbledore!" If they kept mostly faithful to the source material - cool. If they aren't going to bother, then what's the point? Ah, yes. Cash-in. I seriously doubt that any Harry Potter fan, of either book or movie, would mind a 3 hour treat. Instead, it comes across as an adolescent soap opera with magic and special effects, running far longer than such material should.

I have to agree, if we satisfied everyone, we'd all eat each other in the movie. But at the same time there are a few things in these books that you really do have to get into these movies. Like Kory said, at the end of the book there is this almost epic event that nearly destroys the castle and that was not there. That pissed me off the most about the movie. Now I can get that it's a setup movie for the last two-parter movies. But at the same time there are important things that keep getting cut out. But you can't please everyone. Personally though I would have gone with a Rental. The acting was great, but it was just not the same thing as the others or many of the other movies you might see over the summer.
