This movie was excellent, again different from the usual copycat animation movies you find, different because it wasn't fluffy animals dancing around like Happyfeet which, I find quite dull. The plot was fantastic, there was plenty of slapstic humor and a storyline that leaves you guessing whats going to happen next, not just a kids film, a good mix a emotions, suspense, sadness, betrayal with a good ending, top marks!

Ya know, since Korey mentioned that this movie is a total riff on Superman, the plot of this movie is a possible parody of the DC Universe animated movie, Superman: Doomsday.

I mean, think about it: in Superman: Doomsday, Superman is killed in a battle, Lex Luthor (in a twisted way) mourns the Man of Steel's death, so he decides to make a clone of Superman, but the clone goes rogue as time goes on. And in Megamind, Megamind thinks he's killed Metroman, he mours his death, so he decides to create a new superhero, but he turns evil later on.

I absolutely adored this film. The story was fantastic and (mostly) unpredictable, and the action scenes were just jaw dropping. It was leagues better than anything Pixar has put out lately, including Toy Story 3. Between this and How to Train Your Dragon, Dreamworks is now the undisputed king of computer animation. And as far as the 'all villains are homosexuals' nonsense, it's almost like the spill crew didn't bother to see the last half of the film--I won't spoil it, but it clearly establishes Megamind's sexuality. This is a high full price at its worst.

Oh, and this movie had the most memorable scene in 2010. Hint: What's the difference between a villain and a supervillan?

... So THIS is the review that offended people? Really!? Okay people, now we're just getting overly sensitive. Yes I understand, I am pansexual and I have no tolerance for discrimination towards the LGBT community... HOWEVER, this was not it. And that says a lot since I'm the type of person who gets annoyed if someone just says "That's gay" to describe something they don't like or find stupid. The review was great, this was actually one of my favorite reviews recently, I can't lie. XD So much fun you guys had with the comments it seemed.

I think we can all agree on this whole gay debate that it was just a joke. My take on humor is it's all on limits or nothings on limits and that it should be more funny than offensive.

umm...did Seegz's comment get deleted, or was it actually Justin that made the comment about "latent homosexuality"? I believe Seegz made a comment about the ads popping up during the video. Just thought I'd point that out. Anyway, good review, totally agree. :]

I wish you guys had used Lex Luthor at the end of this rather than that green guy. I am huge Clex(Clark+Lex) fan and I would have been over the moon if you had. All through Super Man Doomsday, Lex was practically dry humping Superman and he was not at all subtle about it with his 'Why did you leave me??" and "Beautiful God" statements. Using Lex here would have made perfect sense, IMO.

Being a spill.com fan and gay. It was obvious the joke on the gay/villain stereo-type was a satire. As Korey said at no point did they even say anything about being gay as a positive or negative. Still confused about the Joke or the Stereo-type? This gay-themed comedy segment from infoMania might help (Hint: it's also a satire): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lS4c05WPyRY

I sent this to Seegz, but I thought it merited public display just to show how we appreciate members being cool on the site, even in the midst of a heated debate: Hey, no problem. Seriously, we've all been in that place where we felt really angry or strong about a particular issue and was ready to take it out on the first opportunity that came along. I've done this more than once and it would be wrong and hypocritical to hold it against you. I appreciate the apology, but I also understand. Thanks. Korey

Yes I agree with Paul and one of the items on that menu was a turd sandwich called Jonah Hill But this movie was not as gay as Troy

"It's a gourmet movie with a lot of fast food in it" - was that a good line! About the controversy - don't you guys think that the whole superhero thing can be viewed as a big gay thing? Superheros are generally hunks, wearing clothes that highlight their physique, they are all "powerful" . They're always sensitive - they're always there when one needs them. They don't refuse help to anyone (how nice). And there's always the fact that when a hero fights a villain, no one gets so seriously hurt that he can't come back for revenge. When viewed a certain way.... yeah, the whole thing is pretty gay. Yet it depends on the eye of the beholder (third eye of the beholder?). I thank God everyday there's a Frank Cho around (the guy knows what we boys really want).
