The animation and the 3-d alone make this movie a full price, but the jokes, action, characters and science fiction make this movie a SUPER HIGH FULL PRICE!!! I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!!

This movie was very weak for me. Some parts were funny, but most of the humor did not work at all. Voice acting/script writing both contributed to mundane characters. This is definitely made for little kids. If you're over 13, you'll be bored.

Matinee. The story was told great. The aliens didn't act like real aliens, instead acted like 7 year old kids that don't get what they want. I know that this is a kids movie, but they could have made the aliens a bit more scary or menacing or something so that when they monsters won, you felt happy that the aliens are gone. The movie's humor is what won me over because there is so much conflict and jokes about these monsters and the aliens that it was just hilarious.

It wasn't as funny as Shrek or Over the Hedge, but it did keep me moderately interested. Good, but not great. Matinee.

This movie was so lame. Is anyone else sick of movies full of pop culture references? The characters were lame, and looks like they barely put any thought into anyone in the movie (other than BOB). The 3d couldn't help this movie any.

FULL PRICE; this was funnier than Madagascar. I didn't like how you used Obama's name in vain.

It was a good film. Well worth it watching in 3D. Animation and voice acting was good. Better than Sex!

the animation was great, but the story sucked. They didn't develope the relationship between mosters so they didn't feel like a family to me, and they're supposed to be. And the Aliens were retarted. The mosters put on similar outfits to the aliens and bam the Aliens apparently can't see throught their bulls%#t disguises. The aliens didn't seem that threating, so there was no real sense of impending danger. I laughed like two times. The action scenes were okay. THe chase through San Fransico seemed like a poor man's Iron Giant. The chase with gigantica in the mothership was awesome but that was about it. I'd give a rental.

I usually enjoy most of these pixar'ish, multi-demographic animated films, and I gotta say this one probably receives a top 10 in that category for me. I feel like I should watch it again, but this movie made me chuckle a few times. That's often rare to find that in movies these days, for me at least. I'm glad I had a chance to catch this in theatres.

Gotta agree with Carlyle and Cyrus on this one. I thought the action was exciting on a technical level (which places it above a movie like Transformers which shot it's action randomly), but the lack of involvement in the characters kept me from feeling any significant peril on their behalf. The Incredibles had those moments, like when Mr. Incredible confesses his fear of losing his wife and family, followed by Helen's reassuring counter - all with intelligent dialog - so when the big fight takes off in earnest, we're more involved in their struggle, because they're more human and relatable. MvA didn't give me a stake in these characters' success or failure. It does get a few points from me for being attractively filmed, but I don't remember much of the film standing out in any way outside of the visuals. Overall, I'd say a 2.5 or 3 out of 5. Harmless, but aggressively mediocre, and unwilling to challenge itself to utilize the vast wealth of possibilities the title implies except in the most ordinary ways.

My son and I find the movie fantastic! I was actually forced to suspend my time grinding warcraft gold on WoW just to watch this animated film. And I'm glad that it is worth the time and money. :)
