i tried watching the prequels and ended up stopping the video every time because it is just to scary.

but I admit, i like being scared...

My fave game right now is Labyrinth of the Goblin.

Same kind of camera action, only you have to control the character....

Loved the prequel but here are my list of disappointments

    1. Trailer has ton of footage not in theatrical

    2. Ending leads the door open for a sequel to the prequel and there also could be a further prequel back story there that this should have fully covered just to finish it out.

    3. The second movie had a bit of prequel / sequel mixed into it at the end which i would have liked at the end to give it more closure to bring it back to the present

I just got back from watching this movie and this is my opinion on it:

This movie was more comedy than scary up until the scene where one of the girls is pulled by her leg into what sounds like a closet, where the mom comes back from answering the door to find the kitchen furniture missing, then having it dropped, and the scene where the little girl is like "Come on, Toby."Thats when it gets creep and potentially scary.

If you want to see this movie and have seen the previous Paranormal activites, a rental would be good. However if your new to the series, I would go with a low matinee.

man this movie was some ol bullshit...none of the scenes from the previews was in the movie at all(which in fact made me want to see it in the first place). the idea of showing how it all started was great...but the movie sucked. taking out all those parts just blew it for me

You know, I've sat through this piece of crap thinking "what the hell am I doing here?  I could've spent this time doing something constructive."  When a movie causes you to ask yourself questions like that, you know that movie is utter trash.  This was an insipid waste of film.  What exactly made you guys give this a matinee rating?? No scare, no intrigue, no explanations, no sense.  This was a rental at best.

OK i have to ask did u all see it with the cut parts still in cuz the hell i saw last night was so poor its not even funny i mean all it had was an ending and that wasn't to good. ppl keep talking about insight ... what insight it total did not explain why there was a witch coven at grandmas or why some one that works witch craft had symbols of demonology on her walls ... or what the hell happened to the ppl watching these VHS tapes... who summoned Toby,,,, was this all a plan ... hell the dad had a book in his had that had a mess of what this ghost might be so why pick the most obscure back witch ritual? .... then as i watched all i got was this Toby was one lazy ass ghost for most the movie then like a good dog killed on command that's it ,... also why the hell didn't any one pick up a knife ok so u cant stab the ghost but you sure as hell could of made a mess of the other witches come on...  and last but not lest who picked up on Toby i mean hes old she said yet he wants her to marry the lil girl ... just want the movies need a pedophile ghost ... wonder if Toby s real name was Micheal .... any way i would like my money back now

I loved this movie, it gave us more insight to the characters and explained why it was happening to Katie and Kirsty. I also liked the fact that the things shown in the trailer were not in the movie, I dont know about anyone else, but I hate going see a movie and the trailer has showen you all the best bits. I was worried thats what would happen in this movie, but they switched it around. The trailer told you what the film was about without actually ruining the movie. Even if you are not a fan of these kinds of movie, you still have to show an appreciation for the visual effects. I would advise going to see this movie in the middle of the day, not because it is scary, but because the cinema will be quieter and you can make your own decisions about it.

Haha loved the ghost w/ the live action sequence. Great animation on it too.

This one was a little short, no?

PS The bit at the end where you spliced the pimp ghost animation into the film clip was hilarious.

@Fungusmonkey I would look forward to an animated version from the ghost's point of view.

The story was better than the other two but to me it wasn't scary at all.

I would be willing to take one of these films and animate it from the ghost's point of view. Maybe someone should start up a Kickstarter campaign... haha

Sorry but these movies are bad. For literally two movies it's been nothing but pointless tedious blatant nothingness nd the scariest hing to happen is either a lamp moves or the very LAST five minutes, which still isn't scary and is actually insulting to human intellect. I know this movie isn't going to be much either way but... I would pay double the price to see this entire movie with Spill's animation :)

Now THAT would be the perfect edition.
