This movie was a big "fuck you, i'll take your money now" to the fans of the book and it just pissed me the fuck off

Low Full Price. This was a great movie. I really hope that they do the rest of the books in the series. While many fans may be upset because of the amount of material that was taken out, changed, or added, everyone should still see this. If you like Greek mythology, then you have to check this movie out. The final battle was awesome. The same could be said about the battles against Medusa and the Hydra.

Delete Comment I am a fan of the books and this movie was allright. But I was dissapointed that this was so fast. In the book they fought Ares and the book described the battle and I pictured it to be fucking awsome. But Ares is not even mentioned in the film. Infact, he was on the screen for like what, 5 seconds? But the acting was good and the special effects were cool, so I will give this a very strong RENTAL.

This movie was pretty good but since the greek gods are related in some way and Percy likes Annabeth he'd be dating his cousin. Thats just nasty.

this film is definitely trying to cash in on the Harry Potter craze but it's different from Harry Potter in one crucial element - it's horribly dated or rather it will be in a couple of years. Harry Potter both the books and the films have been good at maintaining a timelessness to them that can keep them fresh for years to come. Whenever a book or film tries to be cool and pander to the hip kids of the day, it dooms itself to be forgotten or laugh at later no matter how "cool" it was when it first came out. Any kid who likes this film now will probably cringe 5-10 years from now if they watch it again especially with the dated jokes and jive-talking satyr. All of us can remember certain books, TV shows, and movies that we liked as kids that when we got older either we still liked them because they were actually well done or cringed because they were so dated and pandering to the kids of that time. imagine if this movie was made in the 70s with the same mentality that the film-makers have now. You'd probably have all kinds of outdated 70s slang like characters telling Zeus who'd be wearing a big lapel shirt and big ass medallion to "mellow out, man!" or "don't be a turkey!" Kids that won't be born for several generations from now will be enjoying Harry Potter because they will be able to relate to it while Percy Jackson will be forgotten in a few years if not a few months. Personally I'd rather see a 70s film version of Co-host's idea, goddammit!

The book is my new favorite, i really enjoyed it, and i love Greek Mythology. However, i am still balancing whether i will see the movie. I watched most of the clips, and i was amazed how fucked up the movie could get. My friend told me its because when the guy who directed Harry Potter made it EXACTLY like the book, some people didnt like it. So he had to screw Percy Jackson and make it NOTHING like the book. But there are positives-it still looks entertaining, nail biting, and exciting. Plus, Logan Lerman is hot!

LOLOL I just reviewed 'Clash of the Titans' and now I'm reviewing this movie.. This movie is just worse.. I read the book. The book is cool. I like it. Personally i like Greek Mythology so i liked the book. However, the movie just ruins the book.. 'Logan Lerman'.. horrible acting.. some scenes were good. Like Fighting scenes, going to the underworld and so on.. but it wasn't that good.. To kids and children. I think it's a good film to watch but not a movie to watch with your parents or your m8s :p

I came in expecting garbage, and got something much MUCH better than expected. No, it's not a great movie, but I found myself pretty entertained by alot of it. As far as Harry Potter knock-offs go, this one is better than the average one of those. I liked the effects work here, and I thought that it moved at a pretty good pace. I enjoyed it overall. It's a straight matinee for me.

Dear god, I really wanted to avoid this movie, but my dad boughtt for u to wacth... Damn him. It was totally unfaithful to the book in every way, had lame writing and acting, and the whole story seems so POINTLESS. I didnt even like the hades scene. And even that comic book fight at the end was boring. this gets a FUCK YOU

-POSSIBLE SPOILER- The movie put itself into a weird position that it cant really do a sequel. main reason, they totally took out Grover's environmentalism. The books reason that Grover came was so he could get a searchers license to look for pan, the god of the wild who is missing. In the second book Annabeth, Percy, and Percy's half brother Tyson (a cyclops) go out to save Grover from a evil deceiving cyclops who is using a golden fleece to mimic the essence of pan to lure satires to him so he can eat them. Without Grover's environmentalism he would not have left in the first place. Also, Percy got to camp knowing that he was the son of Poseidon. In the book, he went to Hermes cabin because he didn't know who his father is. all undetermined half bloods go to Hermes cabin because he is the god of travelers. Luke is the cabin leader for Hermes cabin. but because Percy never went to Hermes cabin we don't get that connection between Luke and Percy when Luke betrays the Olympians. The movie also leaves out Clarice, daughter of Ares god of war and the rivalry between Percy and her. Last, in the book it explains the mist. a sheet that covers the eyes of mortals so that instead of Percy holding a sword, a mortal will see him holding a gun. in other words, the mist helps mortals see in their own perception of reality.

It was entertaining but nothing special. It had some good potential but the effects were ok but beyond that, like I said, nothing special about this one, I agree with the rating, rental, worth seeing at home not in the theater.

Well, I love Brandon T. Jackson in Tropic THunder. He's one of the reasons I went to see this movie. So I loved him in this in a biased way. I'm also biased with Uma, I love watching her as Poison Ivy! But that's just me. So he there, I might be being nice to the movie, but I recognize I'm a little inclined to the actors, so....Matinee, but don't judge me!

now now lets not be too harsh at least the centar didn't die with in the first 15 minutes. and yeah the kid who played percy jackson was on some weak shiz. In my opinion Uma Thurman did what she could, but I wish Madusa or whatever was scarier looking.

I can agree with most of this review except for one thing... calling Uma Therman a fine actor. Anyone who thinks that MUST be on crack or have a severe mental condition. The woman is the Dracula of the acting world, no matter how many times you try and kill that bitch with a bad role, she somehow keeps coming back. Can someone just put her out of our misery?

Dude, this movie was crap. Now, I understand that no movie can follow the source material exactly, because doing so would probably make most book adaptations like 5 hours long. But this book barely followed ANYTHING from the books. The main villain of the series isn't even MENTIONED. The character's ages are bumped up 3-5 years. Entire characters that are uber-important plot points for the overall series are completely cut out. Entire scenes are removed so that they can use more 'hip' teenage cliche's. And the gods didn't even look like how they do in the books OR even in greek mythology. I'm amazed at it. When Chris Columbus directed the first two Harry Potter films, people complained they stuck too closely to the books. This time he went in the complete opposite direction, and barely had it do anything with the books. Epic fail. Some-old Bullshit.
