I loved this movie, and I'm 30 years of age. I did feel it was a bit overly Disney-ish at times but the special effects are seamless, the acting is good and the plot is good, even if it's predictable. Definitely Full Price for me.

OK this movie was greenlight only because of the success of the Transformers franchise, they wanted to make a movie about robots but  not transformers so they came up with a new concept and that is basically fighting tall robots!! Now the other thing is that this concept is Rockem Sockem Robots, and they could have just named the movie that instead of Real Steel, and the spill crew liked the movie, I think the concept is lame as hell, but if it makes the kids happy then thats cool!!  Shit still looks corny though

WHAT!!!! Co-Host lost?! he has laser eyes, electric shocks(can stun the opponents in a second), gun attainments, not only rolls but occasionally hovers and flies(would likely out maneuver and be out of reach for the battle machines) also Co-Host 3000 has a mind of his own so he's far smarter then a bucket head.

That's all basted on the way Co-Host 3000 is originally now, just imagin him with a body...

    They wouldn't stand a chance... YOU GO CO-HOST :D

I was very surprised by the movie...I mean it was predictable, but even though I saw the trailer a while ago, I pretty much dazed out with it because I didn't care much...So I went in not realizing how they find Atom, I just noticed they had a robot during the trailer, and that he had a son that acted like a brat...not realizing the story behind that and realizing he had every reason to be a brat lol.

By the way when the opening credits said Danny Elfman scored it, I knew I was gonna end up liking it, his score REALLY went well with the relationship between the father, the son and their robot. The fight scenes were pretty good, but that last fight was EPIC!!! and the most epic part about that fight, was not with the robots, but the emotion between the characters. I didn't expect a movie about robots to nearly make me choke up.

I have to atleast give it a High Matinee, because this is definitely a theater-movie. I bet most the people who rent it WILL end up saying "damn, I should have seen this in theaters :("

Took my 10 & 14-year-old sons to a matinee yesterday and we all loved it! Very fun and perfect for families (of course then you have to explain how gambling is bad but....). Wondering how far in the future it will be before kids trade in dogs for giant robots as pets...

It doesn't have much of a message. The son has all his dad's flaws. At least kids will learn how to double down.

This movie is better than I thought it would be. The movie is obviously going to be predictable and cliche so I just ignored that, overall that and the kid's yelling/unconvincing acting and tendency to irritate me would make me give this movie a 6.7/10 or a high Matinee on the Spill system.

Evangeline Lilly was sexy as hell and like you guys said the fights scenes really exciting. Too many damn cliches though, it got distracting (Deus Ex Machina when the kid first meets the robot, sexy European/Russian bad chick with a cheesy accent, intense Japanese guy that only cared about honor and drove a  fast sports car). If you can look past the flaws this movie is enjoyable.

This movie just begs the question of how the hell it ended up being more exciting than all 3 of the Transformers movies put together.

This was an exciting movie. It's the only boxing movie that kept my attention and actually had me rooting (on the inside) for the main character since Rocky IV.

Btw, if Co-Host wants to be in Real Steel 2 he should be one of the ringside announcers.

I enjoyed it a lot - more than I thought I would, but I paid matinee to see it. So it's weird for me to recommend it as a Full Price since that's not what I paid.

But f*** it. Full Price. Better than Warrior.
