The first film was a good example of taking the good things about the game and doing something new with it. It wasn't canon, and fans of the games knew that. It was just a fun side story, and I really enjoyed it.
Then Apocalypse came along, and started tacking in characters from the games. It was entertaining, but bad. Afterlife continues the downfall, and was less entertaining.
Then I watched this on TV, missing perhaps the first 15 minutes or so. Ugh. The review sums it up.
    Some ol' bullshit.

Ok, that movie was so stupid, I just finished watching it and everything that the Spill crew said was true and more. You have to smoke pot or drink lot of beer to get through this shit. I am going to watch a better movie now, night all.

Ohhh Milla, Milla! I remember you from "The Fifth Element" so innocent, divine, perfect being with no trace of human hatred and evil.I will watch any movie staring you, but it will be nice if the movie actually have a story.

Hate this movie. Love Resident Evil, but these movies do the franchise no justice. Hollywood is just banking on its popularity and not really giving this franchise anything good to watch, other than Milla Jovovich. Honestly, do not even want to see the next one, just rather play the video games. Playing with the toys would be more fun than watching the movies. SOME Ol' BULL SHIT! this one gets. Excessive bullet time, seriously...why??? NO NEED! Please action directors....JUST SAY NO!!!!

@shadow wait ain't it las plagues not the g virus since the g virus is like i think nemesis not sure on that but i remember the g virus from the games

What was Umbrella's ultimate goal in this movie? What were they trying to accomplish? And the G-Virus was not explained in the other movies, so why the late arrival? Even with Alice's new powers, the G-Virus is superior, there was no way that the T-Virus could had beat the G-Virus.

I knew this movie wasn't going to take itself seriously so I went in there with my mindless entertainment expectations and enjoyed it for what it was. I am not in any way saying that it justifies the lazy directing of Paul W.S Anderson but I had enough fun to give this a low Matinee and seeing Milla kick some ass! By the way, anyone noticed that regardless what happened in the movie Millas make up always stayed fresh, lol?

Bug here is suffering serious delusions. Afterlife was shot entirely in Canada. LA is not and was not suffering from its worst drought in years. We have more water than we've had in a decade having one of the rainiest years in a long time. But if it was a nuclear wasteland, on the set everyone would eat and drink like kings and queens regardless.

I think everyone should watch this movie because of the fact that it was the last movie Hollywood provided free security for and after this all Hollywood movies had to provide their own security adding millions to the cost of productions. While defending the starlet(s) from being raped on set would seem like a full time job, at the same time during production LA was having the worst water crisis in decades, and entire neighborhoods were going without water. Imagine if you will, you are a film industry person and you cannot go outside your house for a year after production ends because it is considered disclosure, and your water gets turned off. Chaos. Lets just say it went nuclear and everyone on security got exhausted and sick and... yep everyone has to pay for their own security now on movie sets in LA. I drove through LA during the filming, and, well, it looked a little like ...this . With this in mind, take a look at the faces in this movie. Don't they look like they've been killed by the end of each scene and then dragged blindfolded to a new location for the next one and then reanimated? When a character died in this film, I really felt like they died... but not in a snuff film kind of way, more like a dragged through every kind of movie production hell and never wanting to make another movie again sigh of relief kind of way...

The Bottom line is: I am simply going to say that this movie was dreadfully lacking in any character development, story line and the predictability of it was beyond me that I grew bored within the middle of the movie. There was hardly any zombies except in one huge scene in the movie. They don't even explain the new breed of zombies they have. It seem to be too focus on the 3D effects, which was cool but it became a distraction from the plot. This is a very low RENTAL rating, if it wasn't for the 3D, it would've got a SOME OL' BULL@%$T!

I've heard the 3D is pretty good, for what it is. With all these remakes and revisionings, I'm waiting for someone to come along, start this series over, and do it right. I remember when I first heard they were making a Resident Evil movie. Rumor started with Bruce f-in Willis to play Barry.

I love the games too much to want to go see this film. Can't give it a rating because of that.I guess it's like Saw. They'll keep making the movies till they can't get anymore money from it.

I love Milla Jovovich...usually. but I was so freakin bored with this, I honestly couldn't wait for it to be over. The use of the 3D was disappointing because it looked rather sporadic. Sometimes it was cool, other times you couldn't tell you were watching a 3D film. But DAMN, Ali Larter is in shape! I gotta hit the gym, seriously.

I've seen all the movies and loved the second one. The third one disappointed me because it looked like the series was really going to take off. But with lowered expectations I enjoyed this one. The element that I hated most from the third film...clones of Alice worked well for the opening. And then thankfully they dropped it. The best scene of the film featured Clair Redfield and it was the axe scene mentioned in the film. They could have explained axe man but maybe for uber fans one could calculate it was another experiment like Nemesis. This film for me satisfied what I was looking for. The 3D was good. As good or better than most 3D films out there. But I agree it was not at the level of Avatar. Like Avatar though the film was meant to be seen in 3D. Part of the reason I went was to see them use the Cameron/Pace cameras on an exploitation film. I thought I would see something fun when things were coming out at you. But I have seen better reach out and touch it things popping out of the screen in theme parks made twenty years ago. But there was a nice vertigo effect early in the film which was kind of thrilling. I'm not tossing it a recommend but if you are someone who has seen the other films and will watch pretty much any zombie film that hits the big screen or video this may be for you, "good enough". I was glad I saw it. I will go see the next one. I thought it better than the first and third films.

Man...ihope they dont reserrect another movie after this. I am a hugh gamer and love the res evil games, but this guy Paul Anderson has destroyed ththem in his movies. I listened to the interview he gave about how much he loved the games but he has not even kept to the storyline, not one little bit. Yes he has slipped in a character or two here and there (not including the zombies) but that is it. The first Resident Evil movie was good, i really enjoyed it, and although it did not stick to the game lore it did metion Racoon city (good tie in for the second movie). The second movie was not too bad either, at leats they threw in the S.T.A.R.S team and it all took place in Racoon city, you also to meet one of the (monster) bosses from the game, however, when the third game came out he had totally and utterly destroyed Resident evil lore. How on earth, or what was left of it did he get from city destruction to world wipe-out. From the very start of the movie to the end it just ran on looks, action and gore and that was it. The third moive was a total shitty wipeout. As for this one, hopefully the last one, it visually looks good, have to agree with the guys, far to much 'slow-mo' and they forgot to add the story. What i can't understand is, in these movies, like in the game Umberella is the baddy organisation doing things they should not for profit, but in this last movie, everyone is dead, their is no economy, no animal life no nothing yet they are still playing evil corporation, WHY??? Other then this movies visuals, the action and gore,(plue zombies, love zombies) I wish i had not of wasted my money and waited until it came out on DVD. As for it being in 3D, as far as i am concerned it did nothing for the movie and i was not impressed, and if it was not for me thinking that Milla Jovovich is HOT and only because she starrred once again i give it 2 out of 10.

Yep, Liam is right, they pulled this from youtube, but the copyright thing is BS. They might have given that as the justification, but it was really because the movie got ripped. Never seen another spill review pulled.
