I can't say ALL the stuff that was left out wouldn't have worked. I did enjoy the movie, not quite as much as I enjoyed the comic since it was alot of all the side stuff going on that made me laugh originally. But I do enjoy the movie...my main issue isn't even the stuff they left out, it's Michael Cera I absolutely despise him as an actor and dislike his casting in the movie. Of everyone cast, HE was the one I thought was mis-cast.

I liked it a heck of a lot, though I admit I'm in the specific demographic that this movie "fan-services." I'm picky about movies, and it always impresses me when I look at other people's impressions that we all have different tastes.

I didn't like it. I think it is the silliest movie I've ever seen (and not in a good way). And it doesn't even show the city of Toronto (great city). This is for teenage gamers only. It's not shocking to me that it tanked at the box office. It had it coming.

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, this movie was awesome and in truth it is directed for a particular kinda of movie going crowd. The sad thing it seems is that like the title, it really is Scott Pilgrim vs the World or at least the critics which is a damn shame. Things that really makes this a cool move, it is different from the day to day formulaic crap that has been coming out in theaters that passes for a movie this summer(Takers for example). It's refreshingly glossed with a vibrant splash of new and something different with it's niffy tie in with video game/comic theme, video game sounds, comics shout out storyline feel, graphics covered music flying in the background with various other forms of stellar visuals and computer graphics to drench the movie with creative style. The lead actor Michael Cera in the movie is pretty Kick ASS (also another cool movie in my view) of whom we have all seen in various other comedy/teen/young/nerds films like Super Bad, Juno and so on, but in this movie his usual shtick as the unsure nerd character works perfect and is well preformed by him. In fact all the characters from girl friends to villains are cool and gel well with each other in the movie. By no means am I going to call this movie better than sex, but god damn it should of gotten a lot more credit than what it did, especially from a number of those Hollywood snooty critics who would of no doubt preferred to see a french movie about a red balloon. One critic I believe at some point as the spill guys where saying rated the movie and didn't even see it, that type of shit is just dead wrong. If one is going to call oneself a professional critic, then one should see the F#@%en movie before opening one's mouth. I much rather follow the advice of the spill fans and posters than the majority of this elitist lot. In short this movie is going to appeal to a certain crowd of movie fans, unfortunately that crowd makes up the less end of the scale as suppose to the greater, clearly seen from the poor box office results. However if you happen to be a part of the smaller type of folks who would like this type of movie, I assure you, its worth the price of admission to see and although one might not absolutely have to this movie in a theater, there are some pretty hardcore/cool fight sequences (one scene that comes to mind is when Scot Pligrim's fellow band mates go into this battle of the band contest) that looks visually better on the big screen. To end, I have no doubt that despite the poor box office performance, this movie will become a cult favorite to those merry band of bothers and sisters (video game playing, comic book reading connoisseurs) who I know will run out to buy this movie when it comes out on DVD. All of us will add this movie to our holy movie collection and will every now and them re-watch this movie and give a silent toast to a great flick, and dream of people turning into gold coins!

Good movie! Chidaddy used to collect comics & play video games until he became "normal" and discovered porn. Now he sits in his mommas basement spanking his pud.

Just got back from the theater, and I can't say enough about how much I loved it. My son will probably see it again this week and turn on some friends. The Spill Crew were spot on with this review, maybe if the studio would have hyped this movie a little more it would have done better at the box office, its a shame. And I'm definitely adding this one to my library.

Really enjoyed this flick, it did loose me a little bit at the very very end but apart from that I really dug pretty much everything about it.

I sat through this pretentious over blown piece of crap movie I mean it has some pretty good elements but damn this movie was almost unbearable it was so into it's own inside jokes it alienated anyone who is pretty normal and not a total video game or comic book nerd ( I used to be one until I discovered the joys of naked girls REAL NAKED GIRLS) definately not a fiull price and matinee is stretch a good solid rental at best.

Thought this movie was great, with incredible delivery and imagination. Well done for the team from "Hot Fuzz" and "Shaun of the Dead"

I'd give this film either a High Matinee, or a Full Price. I really liked the beginning and it roped me in well... I even liked the semi-slow build-up. The visuals were awesome, and reminded me what I loved about video games. It integrated video game quarks well into the film genre. But it became more obvious to me that the writing got weaker towards the ending. After the 4th ex the jokes weren't as funny as the beginning / middle. The story had a really good set-up and middle, but it felt as though they were unsure of how the ending should be. The final ex wasn't as menacing / funny as the last exes. Simply things weren't fitting together as nicely as the beginning / middle, which made the ending drag for me a bit and by the time the ending came round it didn't feel that satisfying compared to the rest of the film. But the film made me laugh, a lot, and visuals were spectacular. There are a few characters very well done, making some less noticeable than others, but definitely charming. I paid a Matinee price and felt good about it!

I watched it tonight. I didn't really like it. Nice visuals and all but when it all came down to it, None of the characters were likable to me. I know it was suppose to be cheesy on purpose, but GODDAMN. Seriously I couldn't wait for it to be over. This will probably be the last Michael Cera movie I will watch, ever. If I could give it a rating, I'd give it a "Watch it Bootleg". Just being honest.

A very well earned "full price." I've only read Volume 2 of the books though, so in terms of accuracy as an adaptation, don't ask me about it. The first 15-20 minutes drag and are kind of obnoxious, but it REALLY gets going after that, blending excitement, humor and sweetness into a delicious smoothie.
