    Quite enjoyable, a high rental.  I would have been slightly bored in a theater, but at home, I was entertained from beginning to end.

    This movie is a rental at most. The segment of the movie that began to scoop my interest is the ending, there is where I feel the movie starts to take direction and makes its intentions well known. 5/10

    I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one guys, not as good as the first, but I didn't expect it to be, I was very satisfied with this movie, Full Price.

    This movie was better then the 1st, and the fellow playing  Moriarty (Jared Harris) deserves an award.

    Good thing you guys are wrong, love the movie!

    I saw this a few weeks back and I don't see what's so complicated about the movie. It's explained pretty well what's going on and the slow motion didn't bother me at all.

    **SPOILERS BELOW**

    @hales,

    Sim's brother, the brink of war and Moriarty are all the main plot (I guess Sim's and her brother can be considered a sub-plot). Sherlock's brother was simply comic relief. The main plot is that Moriarty is setting up bombings/murders to make it look like the hostile countries are attacking and retaliating against each other. He also has a lot of influence in regards to the leaders of this countries (which is why he was present at the peace summit). At the same time, Moriarty is buying up stock in everything that has to do with war (from missiles to band-aids) because once the war breaks, the value in these things will rise and he'll become super rich. Of course, our hero sees through Moriarty and wants to stop him. Sim's brother along with the other gypsies were pawns used in Moriarty's plan.

    I saw this a couple days ago and completely understand what you were talking about. The characters were still fun, the settings were very well done, giving us a little taste of the industrialization at the time. My only problem, and my family agrees also, is that there was too many subplots. You have the plot w/ Moriarty, the subplot with Sim's lost brother, and something about Sherlock's brother and the edge of WWI coming. It's definitely a movie that you have to see again to fully understand what's going on.

    I found myself laughing at most of the jokes in this movie and I did enjoy many of the fight scenes, dialogue, action scenes etc, but after 2.5hrs I don't know if I was fully satisfied with it. High Rental.

    I have to repectfully disagree with this review. I found the movie excitingly intriguing and better than the first.

    I probably just wasn't the type of movie you guys could deeply enjoy.

    Wow can't believe they hate it so much. I liked the movie and the slow motion was cool. Wasn't boring

    I was actually pleasantly surprised how much fun this film was. I didn't really enjoy the first one all that much, and only bothered with this one because my wife wanted to watch it.  I thought it was paced better than the first film.  It was also a lot more fun and I enjoyed the performances more.  Maybe a touch too long, but overall I'd give this a high Matinee.

    I missed the very beginning of this movie but the action was well done, the characters well acted, and all in all , a great movie.
    What's there to hate? Slow motion was really cool too

    sorry, I don't get it. All the reasons you guys gave for why this movie wasn't so strong, were flaws I saw prevalent in the first movie as well, but the first movie got 2 better than sex ratings and a full price? Imo, both movies had meandering plots, or "mysteries" if you can call them that which were tied up in a throw away summary at the end of the movie. The rest is padded out with action scenes and schtick. Yawn. The second movie was rinse and repeat only with a little more slap stick and bigger explosions. Neither movie was justified in being any more than 90 minutes long. I guess I'm just not seeing how the first Holmes movie was "so" much better than the first.
