  Great flick. I hate that people write this movie off as a flashy kids movie. I'm not saying that its not a good movie for kids, but there were some really great performances by Goodman and Hirsch and whats-her-face that plays his mom. I started the movie thinking that it was a joke, just gonna watch it for laughs, and was completely surprised instead to get a great movie by the Wachowski's. After the first 20 minutes, you get used to the super-colorful effects and style and it actually makes a really unique experience. They were able to do visuals and effects that normally couldn't be in a movie(flashback wipes and crazy backgrounds), but worked here because of the heavy style. They were purposefully tongue-in-cheek in lots of parts and even brought back the orangutan(not as annoying as it sounds), but they managed to make climaxes that had me seriously excited. Look at this side by side to something like the Lohan-Herbie movie and there's no comparison. Speed Racer is a high quality movie, but the strange style direction will throw lots of people off. Its really the first movie that I think nailed the cartoon to movie problem. I couldn't obey the speed limit for at least a week after watching, I say FULL Price.

  Some Ol' Bullshit. Oh my god there is so much boring talking in this movie. I thought this was Speed Racer not Speed Racer's family never shut's the hell up. The only good thing in this movie is the racing and there isn't much in it.

  Wow. I can't believe how harsh you're being with this movie. I loved the hell out of this film. I'm so glad I saw this in a theatre, because it was an amazing experience for me. Plus, the actors (John Goodman in particular) actually look like their characters! I think this film is Better Than Sex!

  This is a FULL PRICE film. Thank god when I saw it at the IMAX it was not in 3D or else my eyes would fuckin hurt. You got to get the game on the PS2, it's too much fun. Yet again, this was too long for a kids movie.

  I really, really liked this movie. It's... to me, amazing. I saw it three times in the theatre and well, can't wait to buy it on DVD. I agree with Cyrus, Racer X stood out a lot, at least to me.

  i considered seeing this movie but after seeing iron man and then hearing that this movie was about 2 hours long, i was out. i knew that there were going to be too many flat spots and it was going to just drive me crazy. so i'm glad i didn't see it but i will rent the bluray tho.

  I loved this movie, seen it 5 times and I'm still looking for theatres that are still running it! Maybe it was a bit long but it's so fun to watch, great story, loved how they stayed true to the original show!

  Maybe it's my fault for not completely watching this movie because during the first racing scene at the beginning I got completely bored and went to my computer( I was watching this bootleg at my house) and started looking at porn. After I got done masturbating I went back to watch this movie and then some point around when those ninjas snuck into speeds house and his dad beat them up I fell asleep right in my chair. When I woke up my friend was watching the news and I asked him how the movie was and he was just like "it was ok". But if a movie is that boring, that it makes me want to masturbate and fall asleep then that is a very low rental. Now if you don't mind I'm going to go look at more porn.

  I liked this one actually. I agree that it drags like a mofo. For sure, the first half kind of sucked my balls, but the last half was awesome. I'm only speculating here, but I think that was on purpose. I felt like even the animation was crappier in the first half and it just got gradually better. Not that I think that was the right approach or anything but I noticed it was meant to crescendo. I get the sense that the watchowski bothers/sisters learned a lesson from the matrix trilogy, and attempted to somehow not make the same mistake, but they went to the other extreme. But all in all, it was damned entertaining. The last half was def the bomb. Susan Soreanus did a great job, as did the main dude, I don't know his name. Mathew fox was also really good. Ricci, was kind of whatever. Kind of assexual and weird. If anything she really nailed the old japanamation type style of acting. I mean nailed it. But I don't know if that's a good thing. By the way, did anybody else notice that John Goodman has a totally huge set of bitch tits?

  try shrooms... but then we said why not try a trippy party instead. so imagine having this thing play on two 180 degree I-Max screens simultaniously (make it a dome).
