Just came home from watching this with my daughter (8) who loved the shit out of it. Now she wants to know more about them, so I'm trying to track down the original Muppet Movie. :)

Better than anything on Sesame Street. It kind of dragged in the middle and there were some obvious changes in the voice acting, but otherwise a worthwhile flick. FULL PRICE (mana mana)!

Interloper, in my opinion the best Muppet movie was the very first one, "The Muppet Movie" -- which also makes for a great companion film to this current movie.  Great songs, great cameo appearances, heartwarming -- an all round winner.  The Muppet Christmas Carol is worth a look but the original is the best.  I'd give this current movie a low to average matinee and The Muppet Movie an average to high full price.  While I wouldn't see The Muppets again (unlike Hugo, which I do want to see again), I hope it provides new projects for The Muppets.  As corny as The Muppet Show was, it was good, goofy, wholesome entertainment.

Well I think for adults this is a movie you can sit threw.  For childern I think this thing would be the bomb, which is the people this movie is for.  You cant campair this thing to Batman Dark knight guys.  This is a high quality childerns movie and it does not pretend to be anything else.

Being a Gen-Y kid, I had no nostalgia going into this.

I still loved it. High Full Price from me.

This original ending also sounds much funnier and less cheesy than the one in the movie

So the only two Muppet movies I've ever seen, the two Muppet movies I grew up watching were Muppet from Space and Muppet Treasure Island. What other Muppet movies should I see?

Low full price. Being someone who watched less Muppet media in my childhood than I actually thought, I could see your guys points about it being possibly too much nostalgic focused. But after a while I couldn't help but be won over by the charm of the movie, despite some minor issues i had

This was a mixed bag for me.

The humor at times was funny, and at times fucking horrible (Chris Cooper's song, a lot of Amy Adams singing), there were some really touching and beautiful moments too (The Rainbow connection almost made me cry, I'm sorry), and some really fucking awful Disney molestation. Good cameos (Mickey Rooney, Alan Arkin, Whoopie) and Bad Cameos (Selena Gomez, the guy from Big Bang Theory).

I'd give this a looooooooow Matinee. I think it's barely worth seeing in the theatre because despite the awfulness of some of it, there were a few moments that were absolutely wonderful.

Hell, even Jason Segal didn't piss me off (well, his writing did at points), and I'm NOT a Segal fan.

i just saw it.  i'm a big Muppet fan i watched old reruns of the Muppet Show on Nick at night all the time, seen the movies, and i agree this is a Matinee. i thought some of the songs fell flat (Chris Cooper rapping), Jason Segel (while i'm happy they got someone who was a big muppet fan) they needed to get someone who could sing dance better, and instead of all the celebrity cameos i would have liked to seen more of the Muppets (Dave Grohl as the Moopet drummer was cool though i have to admit) it was pretty much a cross between Blues Brothers and the orignal Muppet movie, which isn't bad but i would have preferred if they tried something new. it was still a good movie but wasn't the greatest movie of all time. i think Matinee is a good rating for it. i hope they make another one and focus more on the Muppets.

I have to disagree with The Spill Crew on this one. Full Price or Better Than Sex. This film will probably be my favorite one of the year. I walked out of the theater with a big grin on my face. I haven't felt this way about a movie since Toy Story 3.
