there are certainly worse films out there, but this is rental, however it is ironic because  while most films are good ideas, badly made, this bad idea, which is made well.

If people actually bother to look past the fact it is Jim the bad comedy actor Carrey on scene and just accept him as actor, he is really good actor in this, where not for.....

-Also the visuals and intensity would be great if was not for...

=the massive problem that this films idea is stupid, conspiracy theories are stupid and this film tries to turn one into a film, but half way realises how stupid these theories are and so suddenly does u-turn in attempt to save itself by adding some even more stupid conspiracy theory into the plot. This means instead of viewer thinking, man what is this about.....I'm really being made to think here and this is intense....etc......viewer thinks, I should be trying to work out what going on but something tells me I will only get stupider if do

The whole number 23 thing is ridiculous but this movie is thoroughly entertaining and Jim Carrey was terrific in my opinion. The twist was really cool in my opinion. MATINEE.

Really UNDER-rated, ppl expect it to be a horror like gothica stuff or something but its a mind fuck thriller. I bet a lot of ppl didn't even notice you can see the nr 23 in nearly every shot some way or a other, 2 cars parked, space, and then 3. Stuff like that. I would give it a Matinee. But if you expect to see something with goor or spooky stuff happening then yhea this ain't for you.

Definitely some ole bulls**t. There was absolutely nothing redeemable about this garbage. I think your guys review was far too kind. This was crap. It promoted itself to be a clever psychological thriller and instead was one of the dumbest films of that year. Everything was terrible and there was nothing engaging. Nothing to look deeper into or to analyze. The acting too was terrible which I was sorry to see because I'm a fan of Carey getting more serious work. He was great in The Truman Show, Man On The Moon, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, and even The Majestic. I thought this was going to be like his Donnie Darko. Something to be proud of. Instead I think he should be embarrassed that his name even appears on the poster of this crap. What was up with every time we go into the book we are suddenly in Frank Miller's Sin City? The twist was flat out stupid. I really have nothing positive to say about this other then that some of the cinematography looked alright. The best part the film though is when the end credits start.

Jim did a great job in this movie, proving he is a versatile actor

I think that Carey should stick with making comedies. That is what people expect from him and enjoy.

So, I'm assuming that, if there's a sequel, it'll be the Number 24?

This isn't a really bad movie. It has a lot of "realistic" factors, everything that they said about the number 23, could actually be real, so it leaves you wondering about that. Jim also preforms really well for a guy thats lived his life based on comedy, and now does a horror movie. Although the ending is a let down, the movie was a decent mystery movie.

Please explain something to me about the ratings...at the end of your review you give it a matinee...but in the side it says that the review is "same ol bullshit". I notice they contradict each other often...whats that all about?

I have to disagree about B&R being the worst batman movie...No, that was "Batman Forever", which also had Jim Carrey in it, but also had the worst Batman of them all, Val Kilmer!
