The savages was a good movie. It mixes various emotions and feelings like love, guilt, depression and fear. Its a movie that has a high amount of drama but also a very ironic and black type of humor. With a heart breaking story about A sister (Linney) and brother (Hoffman) face the realities of familial responsibility as they begin to care for their ailing father. The cast is wonderful, once again Philip Seymour Hoffman gives us an excellent performance as Jon Savage, a lonely 42 years old college teacher. Laura Linney is also amazing in her role of Wendy Savage and Philip Bosco with an award winning performance in my opinion. In conclusion, this was a enjoyable and touching film highly recommendable for everyone.

I wear diapers. Not because I'm old. I got issues. Sexual issues. Which always ends up costing me an arm & a leg with the hookers. They charge alot more extra for that kind of "specialized" fetish. Like I said. I got issues.

Thanks Korey and Co. for reviewing these types of films. I'm in the UK and we don't see these types of films getting any attention in the media. Thanks to reviews like this I can put this on my 'Want to see' list and wait untill it comes up on DVD somewhere. Anyway, I love the reviews - keep em' coming!

I love when you guys review independent films and give your perspective. The goofy horror and superhero movies that spawn funny reviews are a staple for Spill and that's why we keep coming back. But I also enjoy indie films and it's a treat to see you guys review movies that aren't in your typical repertoire.

I enjoyed the review and looking forward to seeing the film. I usually dig films like this and have never been disappointed with anything Linney or Hoffman has done.

This is something to watch with the family because it hits so close to home. It wouldn't be depressing watching it with them since they would spend half the movie making threats about how we better not do that to themlol

Okay, and I'm black. And Carlyle made a black joke. I pushed an old man down some stairs. But you didn't mention those. If you look at other reviews we also make fun of white people, Latinos, women, short people, fat people, the mentally challenged, etc., etc. And usually most people find it funny - until it comes around to them. Point is we make fun of everyone. It's satire. If we go too far I want people to put us in check, but we're making fun of racism and the racist stereotypes that we consider silly. We want you to stay around, but lighten up and realize we're having fun and by no means are we trying to spread any hate.

This looks horridly depressing. It's probably well done for what it is, but I don't think I want to see it. Perfect Christmas movie though: Family guilt and bitterness.
