    Korey's recommendation of Robot Carnival also remind me of recent short that could have been inspired by Robot Carnival called Gentelman's Duel. Jason would probably dig it

    @Dominic H

    I doubt the Loading Bar would appreciate the oh-so-subtle comedic genius of Muv-Luv. Or Persona, for that matter. Though for the record Persona 3 and 4 are fucking fantastic.

    While I agree with Korey that we must open our minds to imagine what the future of technology will look like his proposal of simulation type video games where we run around and perform the actions is incorrect and that line of technology will only advance as a gimmick.

    Kevin is right.  Useful new technology removes a previous step of old technology, it does not add a new one.  Flailing about like an idiot pretending to shoot things with holographic guns adds a new step it does not remove one.  Using a controller involves the following steps:

    1. Your brain sends the signals of what you want to do.

    2. Your muscles respond and hit buttons on the controller.

    3. The controller sends the signal to the game.

    The obvious future of video game technology would thus use similar methods to what is used now for people to control their computer with their brain.  It's being used currently on stroke victims and such.  Combine this with goggles or contact lenses that portray the virtual environment and now the steps go as such.

    1. Your brain sends the signals of what you want to do (shoot, leap, fly right, kung-fu, cook, parkour, pick your nose)

    2.  The game enacts these actions.

    If you wish to add a step and run around the room flailing like an idiot while you do this then go ahead.  But physical interactive gaming will not last long for the reasons Nick pointed out.  You'll trip on your couch or table and crack your head open, also developers are smart enough to realize that not everyone would have the physical space or physical abilities (such as physical disabilities) to play such games.  There are numerous other reasons as to the flaws in this method of gaming technology but suffice to say simply using your brainwaves as the controller are the obvious future.

    Don't know if someone already brought this up, but you guys should review Alan Wake's American Nightmare! It's short quick xbla game which is alot of fun, although a bit repetitive. But I'm curious to hear "yous guys" review on it.

    Thanks for answering my email! Also I'm with Korey's vision of the gaming future, I don't know how them scientist and engineers can fully immerse a player into a virtual world but if there is a demand they'll build one, won't come cheap though. DARPA seems to be doing something like it with the NATIONAL CYBER RANGE project. LONG LIVE LOADING BAR!!!
