Good luck watching "Novecento"/"1900" in about 2 years, Korey, because it's going to take you another 2 to finish. No, but that film really is over 5 hours long. I hear it's good, and I do look foward to "really" seeing it in close-to 2 years, when I'm 18, because it's NC-17. I've got my parents' consent - nay - my father's, "I don't care, go ahead" shrug right now and it's probably not even that bad, but hey, I'm gonna be a good little whimp and wait. Enjoy that #1 spot on the longest films I've ever seen for quite some time, uncut version of "Das Boot".

@Leon - I feel you on that, but it's not always that simple. I DJ in Korea and the spot I usually play at is mixed in ethnicity and age. I've played Basement Jaxx, Parliment, De La Soul, Drake, Kanye, Donna Summer, Salt-N-Pepa and Teena Marie in the same night!
Like I said, gauging the crowd is important, but so is actual song selection, especially TIMING! For example, if I play Outkast's "B.O.B.", I can't play 50 Cent's "In Da Club" right after because the BPMs are way different. Also, the vibe of the songs are different. You always gotta watch the crowd -- what type of songs they're nodding/dancing to more. I look at DJing like being a salesman. I have to sell the crowd on the atmosphere of the bar/club I'm in. If they don't like it, they WILL leave (and that's heart-breaking). Especially with new or old songs people don't know, blending them with stuff they DO know makes them more engaged and more willing to dance or simply enjoy the vibe.

"When you're gay, You can be 60 and you can still party"
I posted this before on the forum, but this is a pretty funny...but odd podcast I found that really fits with their "special guest" and they even have a new episode with more stuff than an interview. http://chirb.it/z2EgOF
This and the next episode, seems like something interesting to talk about LET'S DO THIS!, just a suggestion
Really great show, keep bringing on the laughs guys!

I'm torn on this because on one hand: How is it anymore difficult than sizing up the median age of the crowd then playing one of those NOW! or greatest hits CD collections from the year they graduated high school?
On the other hand: DJ Milez became my personal hero at the first party of Spill Dot Con last year.

Cool podcast. If I were Brad Pitt, I wouldn't have gotten married in the first place! All of those chicks Korey would've gotten out of their clothes and abandoned could've gotten DONE with no problems!Anyways, as a DJ, I want to say thanks for recognizing the difficulty of the craft! Cats really don't understand what goes into it! It's not rocket science, but it IS harder than it looks. Beatmatching is important but understanding the vibe of your audience and how to control it -- sustaining or changing -- is more than technical mastery. Also, song selection is mad important. It's not like an iPod playlist on random. Every song after the other should make SENSE -- not having the crowd scratch their heads like, "Why did he play this?". A lot of DJs now just put on a song at the same BPM without thinking and that can kill moods quick. There are DJs who just press stop and play these days, but there's more to us than that! Look up the legends and big names doing it now. I saw and met Skratch Bastid in February and his "show" was awesome. Check this out.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJrY5GLmO7EPeace

Since Peroni is Korey's favorite beer, does that make it the official drink of ACOCO?

Yeah, i only caught the first episode of comic book men, so maybe it changed.But I am a big kevin smith fan. Love his movies and his podcasts. Watching the show (and this just might be because they are his friends) but it seems like the dialogue was scripted by smith. Not only does everything as far as the people coming in and the things they do seem staged, the conversations feel completely written by smith. Turned me off to the show almost instantly.

@Korey
what DJ did you see? There's Dj's who just do kind of playlists sets and there are dj's that are actually running the beats and individual tracks as they go. Man I can't believe I didn't hit you guys up to check out some of the parties we went to. Things got utterly insane, I was taking shots from random people on the side of the streets on saturday night. I'm pretty sure it was just straight vodka and ruffies
