@Edwardia - First off, no one can read sarcasm. If you don't want to be taken seriously, you need to state it. Besides, you seemed pretty goddamned serious otherwise.

Second of all, no, there isn't. There is no legit situation where name calling is acceptable, I'll admit that. We all do it, but to justify it is incredibly nonsensical. An insult is an insult regardless and the intention of an insult is to mock or express dislike of someone or something. The only type of insult that is 'good' is the joking kind with a buddy or pal, and those are not even serious or mean-spirited. Of course, this relies on tone and not just "gee I hope they don't read it wrong!"

Insulting the person you're arguing with isn't an argument, as much as a condescending talking-down to someone. It's stil considered a fallacy which is a failed argument because you inserted insults to make your point. I don't know where you went to school to learn how to make a proper argument, but that is NOT what a proper college persuasive argument is like. If you mock your audience, you aren't convincing anyone to share your view point.

Third, the reason I talked down to the Spillios who did that is because, in that case, they aren't wrong for an opinion-- they're wrong morally. I didn't call them idiots but I said their behavior is unacceptable... that's not an insult.

I pointed out your hypocrisy because you have a tendency to call someone stupid over things that aren't even remotely bitter to begin with. (I'm a Burton fan and didn't find myself thinking they were going along the lines of 'bashing' through that review at all.)

And my kind of ignorance? I only said you disagreed with their view on Romney not winning. I DID NOT SAY YOU WERE FOR ROMNEY.

And just to set the facts straight: There is a higher percentage of the American population that is for gay marriage than against.

As for the get over yourself comment I made... it means you need to stop thinking your opinion is THE end-all opinion and call everyone an idiot for having such opinion.

Criticism should not be made personal, otherwise, it's immature and childish and no better than the "you're wrong and stupid!" type of arguments little kids make.

Great show guys. BTW anyone who doesn't think that Sinead O'Connor was beautiful when she was young needs to get their eye's checked.

And now to make the original comment I was going to make... upon first hearing that people were allegedly spiking Korey's drinks, I was pretty angry about it honestly, and at first wasn't sure if I was overreacting. Then Leon pretty much validated my beliefs, which let me know I have a reason to be pissed.

If the spiking of the drinks thing is true, those who are guilty, should be ashamed of themselves. I am incredibly disappointed in the Spillio's who would think that it was perfectly fine to do that and, as Leon said, possibly have poisoned him. That is unacceptable behavior.

Korey, you should not feel the need to apologize to anyone for what happened. It's actually kind of fucked up that people are saying that "you fucked up" because apparently your injury turned into a inconvenience for them... no, that's just rude. And further more it's just selfish. Korey's a goddamn human being, not an attraction to cater to your needs, treat him as such.

And thank you to Stephanie and Jonathon for helping Korey. That's very sweet and considerate of you guys. :)

And Korey, I hope you feel better and again, don't feel guilty for what happened. You've acknowledged that you could have denied some drinks, but I still think that the Spillios shouldn't be trying to shove drinks down your throat constantly, especially if they're spiked. And further more, they shouldn't act like you owe them for your injury.

My two cents on the matter... Sorry for the rant.

    Edwardia the First
"You two need to get off the Sin-Head O'Connor love train that you like to get on. This is twice now that I have heard you talk about how hot she used to be. News flash: SHE WAS NEVER HOT and if you think that it just shows that in your old age you guys are getting senile! HAHA Next you'll be telling us how excited Janet Reno used to get you...come on....."
Ever heard of the word opinion? They think she was hot at one time, you don't. Just because you say she wasn't doesn't make it fact. Take other peoples opinions son otherwise when you get out of the basement and into the real world you'll have a lot of people giving you a wide berth because none of them will agree with you.

    @Edwardia the First

Man you guys are so ignorant and you sound very unintelligent (or, in other words, stupid). I hate to use a word like that because I think that people should try to avoid name calling as much as possible

Really? See with all that 'name calling' you gave Cyrus and Leon for not agreeing with your love of Tim Burton, I would've thought otherwise...

You don't agree with them on Romney? Fine. There is evidence for both sides, acknowledge that rather than call everyone an idiot.

It's ironic for you to call anyone immature when you enjoy calling anyone with different views than yours ignorant. Opinions are opinions, get over yourself.

That FAQ idea sounds lovely, it'd be much more pleasant than hearing Leon and Korey bitch about how they get the same questions every week.

I was in Politics today, and we had a brief talk about Obama's Homosexual marriage approval, and one of the main points that people brought up was that it could be harmful to him in states such as New Mexico, Arizona, perhaps even California, due to the fact so many Hispanics are Roman Catholics. I've often thought that as the Hispanic population increases then the Democratic Party will need to, at least on 'moral issues' need to become a lot more Conservative in order to gain votes. If things continue the way they are going then in a few years time there's going to be a large portion of the population who will follow their strong religious beliefs, liberal help to minorities be damned (actually soon they won't be minorities) and they will choose Catholicism over Democrat wishes for a pro-homosexual stance from their voters.

    re: Geek/Nerd Classification -

It's actually a pretty simple distinction. Geeks are people who - for the most part - lead normal lives. They have social skills, they go to a regular job, they participate in society... they just have something (or many things) which they are overly passionate about. You can be a sports geek, you can be a beer geek, you can be a comics geek, etc. Basically, it's something that you love and adore in an outward and open fashion.

Nerds are the typical stereotype that most people incorrectly attribute to geeks. Nerds are the people who generally lack social skills (or grooming) but are not just passionate about something, but almost obsessive. They obsess over the minutae of whatever topic they are interested in. Sports nerds can tell you who played third base for the Mets in 1983 and what someone's RBI was in any given season. Comic nerds can tell you what issue and page The Lizard first appeared in Spider-Man and what the creators were thinking when they designed the character. "Nerds" are the people who not only enjoy a hobby, but focus so specifically on it that it becomes unappealing or overly esoteric.

Lastly, "fanboys". The term fanboy is a sub-classification of nerds and geeks. It's the state of someone not only enjoying something and being passionate about a topic, but taking that one step over the line where they feel superior or entitled in some way BECAUSE they have that topic of interest. For instance, they loved the first two Nolan Batman films, so they feel like that makes them superior in some way and like Nolan can do no wrong. It's the "hipster" version of being a geek or a nerd (hipster generally connotates a social classification or taste in music or the social scene). Fanboys are the people who make us all look bad because they go too far. They act like they deserve something special just because they're a fan.

That's the way I personally classify them, and it seems that most of the people I know follow these guidelines as well. However, since both "geek" and "nerd" used to be used in a derogatory way, people often fail to see the distinction and use the term interchangeably when they are drastically different. The guy you know who has a girlfriend and works at an office and goes out drinking with his buddies and just reeeeally likes Superman? That's a geek. The strange and awkward guy who interrupts your conversation to rattle off some angry and longwinded rant on how Superman's costume is supposed to be red and black because the original comic book couldn't replicate black colors properly so it came out blue (I have actually had someone come at me with that one)... that's a nerd. Those guys on the forums who think that Nolan is some kind of mega-God who's infallible (or the guys who hate on the new Spider-Man film just because they liked the Raimi films)... those are fanboys. Hope that clears it up a little. :)

flavor of love is the black bachelor? i really hope you guys are joking. That show is the opposite of the bachelor.  It is amazing how some peoples minds work. This is why we have racism.

What is the big deal about the KFC ad? Spill uses a variety of ads. what is bad about KFC?

The main page is a carousel so i highly doubt that  the KFC ad only shows up on ACOCO. I swear sometime some of you like to create drama for no reason.

I'm glad that Korey mentioned Mighty Orbots. It's one of the best & underrated 80's cartoons series of ALL-TIME!! I hope that one day this series will be release (legally) on DVD or Blu-ray.
