Starhawk is a multiplayer game, and they are right, the game can be very chaotic.

But as opposed to what they are saying, the skill (perk) system in the game actually brings order to the chaos. Initially when I started playing the multiplayer things were very chaotic and I was being roflstomped in my based my mechs for several matches in a row.

Then I started to check out the skill unlock system which requires you to perform a set of tasks to unlock a perk that gives you a certain benefit. These skill unlocks give you a purpose that you can pursue and often it can actually help you and your team. For example, destroy 10 turrets in 1 match to unlock the turret jammer skill. When you are pursuing this skill you task yourself with taking out the enemies defenses, and so on.

I really did like the single player. As long as you treat it like the game it is, and not like any other generic shooter. the story wasn't that great or deep but enough to drive me forward.

I have paid full price on this and i'd probably do it again.

@gambolingman, you're talking out of your ass.  Starhawk was designed to be played in single and multiplayer equally; the fact that one mode of gameplay is far worse than the other doesn't mean that it was meant to be that way.  "Black Ops is all about the multiplayer" is also bullshit.  Single Player campaigns in video games exist because in the past, it used to be the only mode available (aside from 2 player mode) and because it's meant to be played.

Multiplayer is better in Starhawk, good for the multiplayer mode.  If the developers meant to make a game that's meant to be played in multiplayer they wouldn't have released a single player campaign.  It's happened plenty of time in the past.

This is a solid game and if can get the multiplayer to work all the fun to you but the story is bad, the single player is nothing but a tutorial to the multiplayer and there are no bots, this is a cool idea that needs more work on it. if you can get it for cheap with a code t be more worth it.

I think it was a solid game, story was ok, but its a multiplayer game. Thats why I bought it. The only thing super frustrating about it is getting on a bad team. When you do you get raped because nobody is working together.

This game was meant to be played for its multiplayer, not single player....

    It's an unfortunate truth...
