This is late and my first post, but Treasure Planet was decent and doesn't deserve any hate.

Also fuck you, the music was the best part of the movie

Brain were you singing the Cleopatra 2525 theme song during the Barbarella review?

Treasure Island is mediocre as hell and forgettable but it doesn't spark anything near a hateful reaction in me.

Treasure Planet sucks, take off your nostalgia goggles

The first time I ever saw Barbarella it was on Fox in the late afternoon, back when the stations would still do the Sunday Movie sponsored by XYZ, and even then it made me a man, roflol!  God, what a campy fun movie.  Heck I had forgotten huge chunks (the goo for instance) of the movie.  See, that is what I truly appreciate about this show- the remembering of the classic stuff and introduction into a new direction, too.  Keep up the amazing work.  Also, Treasure Planet is one of the first movies I ever heard my oldest child say 'This isn't really a good movie'  *Sigh* they learn so quickly, lol.

I usually respect your opinions, but FUCK YOU GUYS. TREASURE PLANET IS AWESOME.

I like Treasure Planet, but probably mostly from nostalgia. I was thinking you would say the exact opposite about the music in this movie -- I'm Still Here is a good song, and the score is great!

Darkest Holocasut movie? May have to take a look because that kind of title, to me, still goes to The Grey Zone.

I hate to be that guy but some corrections.

The band Duran Duran deliberately changed the spelling of the name so they could trademark it.

Oliver Stone's reputation for playing fast and loose with the truth began to emerge with Born on the Fourth of July.  Stone and Ron Kovic were accused of exaggerating and making up events in the book and the film (IMDB).

A few years after BOT4J, Oliver Stone produced the sci-fi miniseries Wild Palms.  It was about a Scientology-like cult trying to take over the world.

Speaking in farts...  did they steal that from the Doctor Who special?  The one with Rowan Atkinson as the Doctor?

"Barbarella" is a true classic...  I can't believe that Brian hasn't seen this yet.  I recently showed the DVD to friends at a party and everyone loved it.  Along the same lines, has anyone here seen "The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik-Yak"?  It's another French-made movie based on a sexy graphic novel.  And it's pretty bad, but it's a fun bad.

I fuckin love Titan A.E. Atlantis I fucking love too, if not for the Iron Giant looking robots at the end of the movie. Oh, and spoilers.

lol last note :P, just read this in the Ron Kovic wiki "In early 1989, he presented Tom Cruise with his Bronze Star medal on the final day of filming Born on the Fourth of July, explaining to the actor that he was giving him the award as a gift for his "courageous portrayal of the true horrors of war." Time Magazine reported that Oliver Stone said, "He gave it to Tom for bravery for having gone through this experience in hell as much as any person can without actually having been there."
