    Yes republicans do now, but not for his first two years. Which is my point. He didn't care about it (for two years) yet people supported him regardless. And if it's not a fair comparison explain how it isn't. Even Korey has called gay rights the "next civil rights movement".

    But that's not even a fair comparison. BTW it's a republican majority right now.

    Think of it it this way; if the president during the 50's ended segregation in the military (much like DADT) but kept it illegal for blacks to marry whites, would you vote for him?

  • August 06, 2012 at 6:28 PM, said ...

    Robert Your missing my point. People voted and supported Obama before he repealed DADT and was for gay marriage. It wasn't repealed till 2011. Now, he did say he would do it in a campaign promise, but if your going to say that meant he supported gays, then shouldn't he have kept all his others? He obviously doesn't hold his values on ending the wars and lessening the ones on drugs enough. But lets say he did support gays with the DADT, he still believed that gays shouldn't marry. So i beg the question, if Chickfila was ok with DADT but openly believed gays shouldn't get married would you eat there? To you and Michael, Obama had the power to make gay rights a state issue for his first year and a half while president; democrats had the majority in the senate. Michaelorian, are you saying its easier for Obama to start a war by himself in Libya then it is to make gay marriage a state issue with the majority of the senate and house.

    @ThievingStealburg
    You seriously need to learn a little bit about politics if you think the president can make up new laws as he goes along. There's a process. Sometimes a very very long one.

    Really? Well seeing as he made a point to come out and defend them by repealing DADT (member that little thing?) means he wasn't just sitting by. Sorry.

    I haven't heard that, I know the groups are anti-gay to an certain extreme, but theirs no way to police the human mind. But again with Obama not acting to make gay marriage illegal, if someone was supportive of equal rights for gays and they had the power to stop it, they have an obligation to stop it. Obama showed he didn't care for three years. Do you really think a mother who see's her child beat by her husband can just watch and be considered a good person? Thats what Obama did to gay people and they're rights.

  • August 05, 2012 at 3:48 AM, said ...

    Actually to do that we have to do a couple of things:

    Acknowledging that Obama may have had a stance of Men and women being married as the definition, but in doing so he has not contributed to any ways to actually ban homosexuality as a whole (I.E. making being homosexual punishable as a crime) unlike the CEO of Chik-Fil-A who donated money to orginizations that wanted to making being gay illegal outright not just banning them from being gay.

    Thats where people don't like the mans opinion. He is actively trying to make gay a crime which is bigotry at its finest.

  • August 05, 2012 at 3:45 AM, said ...

    Oh yea, I don't get why people feel they have a moral obligation to stay away from chicfila; an obligation that didn't kick in for 3years with Obama. Thats all.

  • August 05, 2012 at 3:33 AM, said ...

    It has to do with what people believe, thats why they're boycotting the ignorane of chicfila's ceo. If you give Obama an "OK" you hurt the chance of people believing in your ideals. It just goes to show people want to have they're cake and eat it, even if it means compromising

    Again, not about Obama, please the debate is about chik-fil-a not Obama, so please just drop it.
