@Jason Murphy, I can't believe that you said "camping is what snipers do".  Taht's what campers do, regardless of their class.  A proficient sniper, in the gaming and the real world, moves after a maximum of two shots fired.  It's called relocating.  You must have learned that having played "Sniper Elite V2".

Also, Half-Life ran on the Quake 2 engine and Counter Strike was a mod that ran off the Quake 2 engine as well, but was released by Valve.  I used to play Half-Life's multiplayer instead of CS because I fucking hate CS.  I did then and I still do now.  And when "Return to Castle Wolfenstein" came out, running off the Quake 3 engine, that's what I'd played for months and months.

That being said, I hadn't played a game online in over 8 years and have no intention of doing so any more.

Iron sights? If you added iron sights you would of pissed the fuck out of most cs fans. There wont be no map packs but hundreds of maps created by the community and added in free updates. It's all part of valve's let the fans do all the work for us business model.

    @WeekendTaco

I really liked Reach but I still think 3 is the better game. 3 had a better paced campaign, better multiplayer maps and a better art style

This is the first counter Strike I've played and I F'n love it. I agree with Jeff not having it more modern because that makes it stick out from all the other FPSs today

Here's a song for Jeff that seems to accurately sum up his anti-camping sentiments.

    Geoff...Jason...come on.

This is Valve.  The game will see content updates; new maps, new modes, mods, etc, etc; for years to come.

The reason Valve made Global Offensive was to do two things.  Bring Counter-Strike into the modern day and to make a version of Counter-Strike that allowed for better interaction with the competitive scene as well as the gaming community at large.

Fair point on the number of maps that shipped with the game, but you know that number's going to increase very quickly.  And sure as hell not in the form of CODs shitty $15 map packs.  It'll all be free updates.

However, I have to disagree on two points you both brought up.  This game is far more balanced than the previous versions.  More of the weapons are useful.  Rounds don't devolve into all M4s, AKs, and AWPs.  Even the movement has been improved.  (by the way, bunny hopping is harder to do now.  It's also less effective and seriously fucks up your accuracy.)

There are some things I hope to see improvement in as the time goes along.  Like slightly faster turn-around on modding tools for server owners, for example.  Still, this is by far the best build of Counter-Strike yet.

Halo 3 is my favourite multiplayer game.

    RANT ALERT!

1.Reach had terrible maps, especially the shitty looking forge world maps.

2.The skill leveling system was perfect for Halo 3, you could actually tell if a player was good instead of someone just leaving their xbox on while they leveled of match bonus.

3.The dmr is a terrible weapon which they had instead of the best weapon, the br. The br was great, you had to lead your shots unlike the dmr where you spray it at whatever you want to kill.

4.The jumping in Reach is useless compared to Halo 3, in Halo3 you can assassinate people by jumping backwards over your the enemies head and hitting there back but in Reach you can't do that without a jetpack. Not to mention there are barely any spots you can get into with Reach since the nade jumping is so crappy, goodbye hlg. Forgot to mention,To strafe in reach is fruitless.

5.Loadouts, loadouts are a terrible idea because what made Halo 3 fun was that everyone started on an even playing field and that means if you're good you win but in Reach there a armor abilities which causes situations were you spend a 10 seconds shooting someone who can just hide in a ball and not take damage, the sprint makes it almost useless to weapon time and invisibility is open to everyone now so once you get a close range weapon you basically already have the kill but the worst thing is that they replaced the active camo and overshield with this shit,so now everyone has an advantage, this was probably made because new people to Halo 3 were getting frustrated because they sucked.

6.Overly accessible games like Reach leave nothing to learn or improve on after your first day of learning how to play  but in Halo 3 you could map out possible routes that the enemy could take to the power weapons and ambush them but you cant in Reach because of jetpacks. You could time the overshield, active camo and weapons to anticipate there spawn which was a strategy absent in Reach. The br was a weapon that everyone shot at the same rate which made firefights fair but in Reach we get a dmr you can spray. Nade jumping and jumping in general were great ways to get the jump on your enemy also absent in Reach. In Halo 3 mastering your strafe was a great way to win firefights but you guessed it Halo Reach wrecked strafing.

7.Halo 3 has vibrant colours and great graphics which hold up in a unusual type of way but in the case of Halo Reach they decided to try and make it look realistic but unfortunately they stumble and everything looks grey and cheap especially the character designs not to mention the armor looks unrealistic and ugly on your character. Another case of Halo 3 over Reach, to unlock all the armor in Halo 3 you have to perform well and earn achievements  but since they couldn't think of a reason why anyone would keep playing Reach they had to put in armor you buy with points you can earn without even playing well.

It took me months to get all the Halo 3 achievements but it took a week to get all the Original Reach achievements not to mention i even got on a top ten series for Halo Reach even though i hate it.

Also jeff you cant hit shit while jumping bunnyhopping doesnt do anything for offense its just to help dodge... but since bullet spread goes vertical jumping can get you instantly headshotted so stop crying and try to understand the game.

Yea the game is good, but some of the guys on PC are crazy. they have been playing CS for like 10 years and will just own everyone.
