I feel like Max Landis' Death of Superman video is solely meant to be laughed at. If you went there expecting an in depth analysis of that story, you were in the wrong place.

79:20 - I love, love, LOVE Breaking Bad, but I can't watch episodes once a week.  I have to watch whole seasons within like 2 days.

39:50 - Wow, I actually chewed the Bazooka Joe gum... and the gum that came with trading cards.  Besides the fact they lost their flavour after like 3 minutes, I had no problem with them.

On a similar note, I've heard people had problems eating Cap'n Crunch.  Never had a problem with that either.  O_o

I had two comments on things that Harris said in this episode.  He mentioned Christy Marks early on, and all I can think about was........ well just google her.

He also says that Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill was really good.  I have to disagree here.  The concept is cool, I like the character, but there were some major pacing flaws that really hurt the book.  It's a ghost revenge story where you are introduced to the ghost in the first 30 pages, find out it's motivations in the first 100, and know everything the ghost is capable of in the first half.  The second half of the book therefore drags as we just go through the motions.  In my opinion a good ghost story needs a slower reveal, and needs to build up to the conclusion.  Now his second book Horns had much better as far as pacing goes.  I think Daniel Radcliffe would be good for the role as well.

I hope things are going well for you and your family in these times, Cyrus. I know you're agnostic, but I'm hoping and praying for your family nonetheless. And I'm very proud to listen and follow a guy who is a devoted family man. Much love man

Hey just wanted to say how awesome it was to get my question answered on the air. Great show. It was cool to hear from Cyrus. Keep up the good work.

Awesome LEOG this week. Great to hear from Cyrus, all of the special guests + listen to a lengthy discussion on comics. I agree with all the recommended titles that were listed, though I do feel compelled to add my own clear favorite, 'The Manhattan Projects' by Jonathan Hickman and Nick Pitarra. Can't recommend this book enough, and if you love Sci-Fi, altered history and comics in general, this is absolutely the book for you (and yes, to me, this book is better than Saga or anything DC/Marvel have to offer)

Yeah, I was never really 100% comfortable with how jokey everyone was with Randy's diagnosis. It's good to stay positive, but it definitely isn't an easy thing to go through. My wishes go out to Randy and Cyrus both. Stay strong guys <3

I send my condolences to you and your father, Cyrus.

I can't believe LEOG having a Comic book podcast. It comes at great time because its been quite a while since I've been up to speed with the comic world.

    Cyrus,

I have never met you nor your dad, however I am a big fan of the site and even bigger fan of having the courage to chase your dreams, as you and the rest of the guys do each and every week.  While I am working all hours, typing on my laptop, I have found you and the rest of the crew's discussions to lighten my burden on numerous occasions, and for this, I thank you all.  Second, my condolences to you and your family for your father's illness.  Having not known your father, I can only judge him by my limited knowledge of his son, and with that, please thank him for being a hell of a father and a man.

It's tough when parents get old or ill. Cyrus has the right attitude, why make things dark in someone's bit of time they have left better to try and enjoy every moment. Although I don't know him or his family I wish them the best.

A little comics talk you say? Warren Ellis had said it all at the London Comic Con, Kapow (check me if that's right) way before Rob Liefeld's meltdown. Difference being a sense of professionalism. I really respected Ed Brubaker stepping away and basically saying, he now has all the exposure he could hope for with Marvel...and could always come back but he wants to do his thing and so, he's opening up his titles for a fresh ambitious writer. I said it a while ago, I will say it again...Image is sucking up all the top writers who are fed up with Marvel and DC editorial interruptions and have cultivated enough of a fan base to do their own thing. Hell, you know when Grant Morrison is leaving DC prematurely to do Happy with Image (another crime comic)..and that cat has all the power...something is not right. My problem with the DC #0 stories is exactly what was said in GL #0. Gonna give Johns the benefit of the doubt that the character's struggles with racism in post 9/11 contributed to his difficulty getting a job that led to a life in crime similar to Luke Cage. Yea, doing zero issues at 20 pages when you are introducing major new characters in one shot is a bad format. Would have been a better format like Dennis O'Neill did a Bane one shot. One Year Later, The DC Relaunch has actually been a success sales wise...despite shocking drops in a few titles noticably GL Corps. I wonder, it's starting to fall back into the same problems that being, it doesn't feel like one universe. This may be ONE reason to support cross-overs...despite tendency to abuse it. You have segments that feel interconnected, Lemire/Snyder/Fialkov pulling together Animal Man, Swamp Thing, I Vampire, and Justice League Dark... I DO think now that Layman (Chew) is taking over Detective Comics and Hurwitz on Batman, the Dark Knight...you'll see more consistency (hopefully) with the mission statement of the bat titles. Still Batwoman and Batgirl feel too disjointed. I see a big problem with Didio continuing to push characters in desperate need of an update, the third wave doesn't give me any indication that concern will change. Making the Question into a character that is intertwined with Phantom Stranger as a Biblical character and zealot as Pandora makes me a little skeptical. And the JLA title conceptually sounds good as a Secret Avengers team that IS secret...but again, can Johns bring back his JSA touch after a horrific JL run? Over in Marvel Now, they had the better concept. These writers as Leon said, get too formulaic after a while and need a chance of scenery...and I like this change of the guard because it gives Rick Remender a chance to shine with Uncanny Avengers and Captain America. Really excited about most of the titles...despite concern with Greg Land, on my favorite Iron Man.
