    @Snickersnee: I agree. There are many examples of women being good if not alright as characters ad on what they do in games. A problem that seems to be part of this debate is the neglect of context when it comes to debating the use of women. Sure, Lara Croft can be considered a sex symbol in a way but to ignore her background as an archaeologist, skilled fighter and accomplished individual is disingenuous and part of the problem. Also, people need to grow up and consider actual misogyny and degradation to women when it actually happens, instead of just throwing it around.

    I usually try and not comment because I usually agree with you guys but I can't agree at all with this episode when it came to women not getting treated right in video games. Yes, most women in gaming are treated like sex toy, yes they're usually all about being rescued because they can't do it themselves. The real fucking problem is you people aren't buying the games that have strong lead females! lets look at the past female leads shall we! Mirrors Edge, a great game that was getting really good reviews that had a strong female lead. It's overall sales was around 1 million dollars. That's not nearly enough for a sequel, specially when you look at how EA runs thing. Beyond Good & Evil, this game again had a strong female lead that showed a strong female and was rated very highly, again was a commercial failure. So you expect these developers/publishers to make a strong female lead character when you won't even super them? At the end of the day if I'm in the business of making money I'm going to focus on the larger demographics that buys my games.
    I'm willing/wanting to hear peoples counter arguments.
    also if you only play call of duty your not a fucking gamer.

    @Conejita

    Yes, I agree. My beef isn't with Korey or you. But my problem I have is with the fact it's one race that seems to define who an individual is(the socially dominant one). And everyone else jus goes along with it. Why?

    @Darth_Siskel

    To defend Korey a bit, I've always learned that race was a social construct. It's something you have no choice in, society chooses what race they consider you. Ethnicity however is whatever you actually are, so if you are of mixed decent that is something that is not determined by society. It's what you are.

    Colloquially the definitions seem to be different.

    I feel as if Korey was trying to say, as far as society goes, if people look at you and to them you look black, you'll be treated and regarded if you are black. That doesn't mean that, as far as your actual ancestry goes, you are just black.

    Korey(no offense)

    But by saying that "a mixed person is black & thats it.", is saying I must look to white people to define my personal identity.

    Why do these rules not apply to someone like Keanu Reeves? Whos mixed. Dean Caine, mixed(and the only non-white person to play Superman). It only seems to apply to people who are mixed with black.

    Tiger Woods once said - "I am what I am, not what people perceive me to be"

    @ LiiiG Hour

    Malcolm X's philosophy wasn't one of violent protest or violent rebellion like the IRA. When he became a member of the Nation of Islam his message was of separation of the races and echoing the teachings of Marcus Garvey in advocating blacks in America to repatriate to Africa. After leaving the Nation of Islam he  founded Muslim Mosque, Inc., a religious organization, and the Organization of Afro-American Unity, a secular group that advocated Pan-Africanism and raising the political consciousness of African Americans. Where a lot of people misunderstand him as violent, as Korey said, is from his belief that black people should protect themselves if the government is unwilling or unable to do so. Malcolm X declared that he and the other members of the Organization of Afro-American Unity were determined to defend themselves from aggressors, and to secure freedom, justice and equality "by whatever means necessary"

    korey, do you not think that people who don't agree with malcolm x's philosophy do so because they don't support violent protest ( or the preaching of) instead of just being "a thing line of racism" (case by case of course). Look at the IRA for example. You assume peoples thoughts without any prior judgement. kinda ignorant.

    @ RogueLatina True enough, but I would even go a step further in saying, that the reason why most races are more accepting of white people than others, is the whole white wash of the world itself. If you look at most magazines, media, t.v. & movies, you really don't see most other races represented & if they are it's usually a stereotype or exaggeration of those people. My take on it is love is love regardless of race/culture/or tradition, but some  relationships do start because of fetishes, spite, & racial stereotypes.

    Sorry buddy I moved on to pc and Vent. Console age is dead for other reasons. I just wanted you to know that it can really be annoying when you have teammates who refuse to use a mic because of their social awkwardness. You should try to use it more you'll have more fun.
