I know this was mostly about films, but since one of the questions you read was about horror comics, I was surprised that no one mentioned the old EC books like Eerie or Creepy, which introduced a lot of impressionable young minds (like mine) to things like cannibalism, zombies, and vampires.  Good stuff, with some sometimes-great artwork, and you can still find the old books for cheap or new in omnibus-type compilations.

Would imagine that was kind of what the Loneliness of the long Distance Runner (1962) was trying to express with angsty youth...

@Daedalus--I was actually the one who made the point about the fear of the youth culture in the UK. Thanks for the insight, though, much appreciated.

Its not because its a kid that it ignores it its that it cannot harm them, the aliens never fired unless fired upon and I was definitely on the aliens side during that whole movie. Everytime they killed an alien I was sad. ET's were just trying to call home yo.

@ Harris It's worth mentioning (I think anyway) that English culture has had serious problems with 'youths' principally since the '50s and the birth of the teenager demographic and disposable income. The seeds of that were probably sown in the Victorian period, though maybe even earlier I don't know. The state of it now is just because of the 24 hour news media culture which only has one story for young people: they're evil, feral and/or terrifyingly promiscuous. The cycle continues and grows.

Great episode as usual lads and ladies.

Good, show, still feel like the girls don't get much said and the jumping on the japanese stuff feels disrespecting somehow, but it was fun overall. Also donated to randy get well buddy! Love to LEOG members and Cyrus, think of him everyday, knows how it feels. Take great care and keep entertaining the small world of spill! ^_^

Oh, the whole DC Nation got removed. I watch Young Justice online since last I checked they don't air it where I live.  All I heard was YJ got replaced with Dragons Riders of Berk, which from what I've seen was lame and disappointing. I just assumed their reason was Dragons would be more profitable, even if it is a worse show.

Btw, will you guys ever do an ep with Young Justice as a topic? I know Leon at least is a fan, would love to hear you guys give your analysis and reactions to it..

Lake Mungo gives me the shits. It's a very slow burn movie, but they nail the atmosphere, and some images just got burned into my eye holes.

I have not seen too many Horror films.  I avoided the Paranormal Activities and DTV movies but I have seen a few that I didn’t care for.  But most that I chose to see were great like Halloween, The Shining, Evil Dead etc.

Favorite: The Exorcist.  I love the atmosphere, the characters, and the suspense.  An all-time classic.

Worst: Exorcist the Beginning.  SOOOOO BORIIINNNNNGGGGG.

Underrated: Ginger Snaps.  Really cool twisted movie based on werewolves.  The Two Sisters are really fascinating characters.

Overrated: Cabin in the Woods.  GOD It hurts that I have to say that but I wasn’t all that thrilled by this movie.  At least it tried I’ll give it that.

Guilty Pleasure: Black Sheep.  It’s no Dead Alive but I like it.

    @Santos

    How it actually went was:

Someone: "A bunch of listeners want an Anime segment."

    All of us: "Ugh. No"

    *years go by*

    Someone: "They won't stop asking."

Harris: "If we ever do one, I speak anime. But really, fuck anime."

Rubio: "I've seen a lot of anime too. I agree with Harris. Fuck anime."

Someone: "But they won't shut up about it. How about we do a thing where Harris talks about an anime or a manga once a week and Rubio incessantly makes fun of him."

Harris & Rubio: "THAT WOULD BE THE ONLY WAY WE'D DO IT."

Anime listeners: "Rubio is a dick! He should let kawaii Harisu finish his thoughts!"

    Harris & Rubio: "HAHAHAHAHAHA"
