The Catholic church actually does have pastors. Maybe in a difference sense than other churches, but they do have them.

I remember seeing this at the Milwaukee Film Festival and it sticking with me. Much better than "Compliance" but up there with "Jeff" which was about Jeffery Dahmer. The jokes William H Macy makes MADE the movie. He has to get something because he said so much shit.

There's a 35 minute documentary called Breathing Lessons about Mark O'Brien. It's been a while since I've seen it, but I remember it being pretty good.

When I heard this movie involved Helen Hunt fucking a paralyzed man, I was reminded of that movie she did in the '90s called The Waterdance. Anybody remember that one?

The guy dressed in purple on the unicycle is "Pink Man". He's a common fixture around the Berkeley campus. Berkeley in 70's and 80's was a magical place, and Mark O' Brien was able to accomplish as much as he did because he was in the right place at the right time.

@Cammix~ It's not really about the length of the film. Some movies can stand being trimmed down to make a more concise narrative, as opposed to a meandering, drawn out one. Other films can feel short if you think the narrative needs room to breathe or more time to develop.

@ 22:10 Cohost confusing the main character with Stephen Hawking. Am I the only one who would watch a movie about Stephen Hawking trying to get his groove on?

Good review. On a side note, with all the people with all the people posting FIRST on the threads, I hope this is not an indication that this will turn into the AINTITCOOL message boards. Anyway, I didn't even hear of this movie before today

How about a comment that relates to the movie and review.
This movie looks and sounds great! I had not heard about it until this review, but it's definitely on my radar now. This is what I love most about Spill. You get to learn about movies you'd never think you'd be interested in, and sometimes they wind up being your favorites of the year.
