That was a pretty bad story, (The dog one) I don't blame you Leon, I don't want to hate on anyone, but Al Frank, I haven't heard any podcasts with him, but man, I heard this one, and he seemed heartless. Not even funny. I think you guys are great btw.

Not sure if anyone has noticed, but a lot of the podcasts (especially LDT,ACOCO and LEOG) won't play properly on mobile browsers. When i try to play it i always get a high-pitched, speeded-up version. Would love for this to get resolved, i listen alot of the podcasts on my phone.

I have been a Spill fan for awhile now,..got a mouse pad to boot!

But to be Honest,..80% of the time, I never listen to the reviews until After I see the movie.  Not that you spoil stuff,..but just because I like to know what you are referring too and it is interesting to see how you tell withOut telling. As well as the jokes and stuff.

Unless I don't care about the movie,..and frankly, sometimes the worse the film is,..the funnier the review :p

    cheers

I liked the prequels. The acting was lame but the story was good. Now Force Unleashed, THAT was some bullshit.

Tangled had the most impressive CG animation with old school cel sensibilities I have ever seen.

I am sure it owed alot to Glen Keane.   Sure it was a tween girl flick,..but I couldn't blink and risk missing a frame :p

@ Mr. Whiplash I wouldn't recommend movies made 2 decades ago to justify any one working today as cred. Case in point, Dan O' Bannon wrote Alien then came back to write Alien v Predator for $$$$.

More specific to your point, Kathleen Kennedy's more recent films produced include: Indiana Jones and the Crystal Turd, M. Night's The Last Airbender Offender movie, Clint Eastwood's snore fest The Hereafter or learn to swim, War Horse-burger (look at this woman's profile ANYTHING but horse related porn is a green light)...she'll put down money on anything with a brand name mostly Spielberg and Lucas.

That's like Warren Buffet saying, "I'll put money down on apple..." Doesn't mean it's good, just means it'll make MORE money. And THAT fact disturbs me in some ways because in the movie world it undermines the integrity of critics.

Let's go BACK to the idea of Disney buying Lucasarts...I say it has a shelf life of 10 yrs before it atrophies.

Miramax was American Independent film standard...key being "was" till the Weinsteins took a lot talent with them. Between There will be Blood, and spill's favorite film...No Country for Old Men...not too much to talk about in recent years. Focus pictures owns that industry now...

Pixar WAS cutting edge animation and now, showing signs of fans going, "Well it wasn't their best BUT..." rebuttals.

Yes, Marvel movies are doing well but feel free to hold me to that 10 year marker. By Avengers 3, Cap 3, Thor 3, Iron Man 4, etc...will movies largely made for non-comic book audiences and fan boys alike still draw? Or is a reboot in the works especially as some of these actors and actresses who signed these deals are looking to get out already. Give another 5 yrs and Weaving will sound like a man trapped in a Disney asylum.

I do believe Star Wars will benefit from Disney in the immediate future but like all corporations that do mostly inhouse...I can see the product becoming tired after a decade. So yes, short team good...long term, I will keep my excitement modest because it disturbs me that Hollywood is constantly recycling and not creating anything fresh and new....and that goes for Disney...I mean, we do remember the "first Hispanic princess" unveiling that went horribly wrong right? Again, corporations rely too much on pre-existing fan bases to continue paying through the nose...

That's why comic books are $4 for old men with no kids.

That's why Pixar movies for adults and kids are going 3-D that's $20 per ticket for consumers in NYC

That's why Disneyland is nearly $100 to enter for the day.

Tell me how do a family of three afford that? I can with my kid thanks to a good job but I cannot say that at all for all my friends with kids in NYC that post on this site.

That brings me to my FINAL point that goes back to Occupy Wall Street: Do we NEED to save these brand names like Lehman bros, Goldman Sachs...or more specific to geekdom: Marvel, DC, Star Wars, etc? Does THAT impede the invention of NEW ideas, FRESH talent, more dynamic stories?

Does the past constipate the future? I hope not by the time my daughter finishes college and pays $10 a comic book, $40 a movie, and works on the Twilight remake. *shudders*
