This movie is an exact carbon copy of a short film called "Successful Alcoholics".

Not sure which one was made/pitched first, but it's staggering at how stories like this are re-recycled.

@Joey A what spoilers? That he's a heavy drinking pilot in trouble for that? They "spoiled" that in the review for Flight

If you're a heavy drinker and can't maintain your dignity or function in life: you got a problem. If you're a heavy drinker and you can maintain your dignity and function well in life: you'te probably British.

You know Korey its weird, I'm checking the cast list for the movie and can't find anyone called Aaron Hall. There is of course Aaron Paul but... nah you coun't have meant him. I'm just busting balls, man everyone makes mistakes. The funniest thing is not that you kept calling him Aaron Hall, it was that Leon and Co-Host didn't correct you.

Normally I am not a poster who complains but do you have to spoil, bits of a movie like flight that has just been out for 2 weeks.

Im loving Mary Elizabeth Winstead every time she's getting some work, I never thought she could be taken as a serious actress

hard to believe she started out in a kids movie then with horror

Saw this in Chicago with my mom and it just broke my heart, we both were crying at the end.  Yet honestly this probably is one of the more uncomfortable movies to see with a parent.  I think we both made the trek to see this because of mourning, my father was an alcoholic and I remember on my birthday he told me he would make it to rehab but never did.  Many scenes reminded me of him at the same time even though the end wasn't necessarily happy and is a bit ambiguous it did bring me a bit of bittersweet solace.

Also I completely agree with the rating it's definitely a matinee.  The performances were great all around and to be complete honest it's because of this movie I found out what Winstead's name was which in and of itself is depressing I've watch stuff from this lady for a decade and never knew who she was until this year.  That said, lady knocked it out and if the buzz sticks that her performance gets a nod I wouldn't be surprised.

It sounded like you said "Hall" instead of "Paul" for Aaron's name. I'm glad that you got to review this movie, I didn't think you would get to it after it was released months ago.

Seems to be the long version of this award winning short.
