Everyone keeps saying that about Doctor Who. I can see no evidence that what happened gave him more lives (as opposed to just bringing him back to life) anywhere. Nothing like that is spoken in the episode and the 'official' sources of info and wiki data don't suggest it either. I think this is just fan supposition, but there's nothing saying they might not use it down the line, but it seems unlikely to me at this point.

@Cyrus good to have you back, but I believe I need to call you out on the Doctor Who thing. I believe they already cleared up how they can have more Doctors in the future by River saving his life in the "Let's Kill Hitler" Episode by giving him all of her regenerations. I could be wrong on that, but I'm pretty sure they intend to use that to prolong the show's life

CYRUS RETURNS!

They've already fixed the 11th Doctor regeneration problem. Remember, (Spoiler) gave him all of their remaining regenerations to save his life. They'd only had 2 or 3, so he got a whole pack of them. (And Matt Smith is signed on to play the Doctor until 2014 and could go further.)

Brian, start with the 'Blink' episode (Season 3 Episode 10) of Doctor Who. You don't need ANY backstory as it's told from the POV of a new character (played by Carey Mulligan). It also introduces a new Doctor Who monster/enemy which has arguably become one of, if not the most frightening bad guy in Doctor Who history. And you'll finally understand those "Keep Calm and Don't Blink" t-shirts that float around geek-cons.
Honestly, you could pretty much jump into any episode and catch on pretty quick.
I started watching Torchwood first, not realizing it was a spin-off of Doctor Who. Then I was looking for what happened to Captain Jack at the end of season one and found out about the Doctor. So my first Doctor Who episode, EVER was Season 3, episode 11, which was the first part of a three part season finale.
Sure there were some references I didn't get, but the story was interesting enough and the writing tight enough that any ignorance I had of it was pretty much moot.

They played Lawrence of Arabia in my local theatre last month. Watching it on a t.v does not compare to seeing it digitally remastered on the big screen. It actually took my breath away. I couldn't agree with you guys more about the movie, and to anyone who hasn't seen it, please give it a chance. By the end i didn't even mind the ridiculously uncomfortable seats.

A lot of the early movie trailers for Brave touted it like a movie adventure action epic. It was not.

Doesn't the description of "The Dick Van Dyke Show" make it sound like the 60's version of "Seinfeld"? About how someone's home life provides inspiration for his comedy writing?
Oh, and nice Tommy Westphall reference!
