You know it's not just the roster that matters in this type of game. If the game is only about the roster it loses its luster in a months time. SSB Brawl was only saved by the amount of content and achievements there were to obtain, Melee had the formula right and was only pulled back the "clone characters".
SSB (Brawl can be an exception) was as enjoyable for people who play competitively and those who play casually. I find it to be a huge waste that other games aren't building on the formula that has already worked if they are doing a "clone" version of the game for their own console.
I don't think this should even be compared to Smash Brothers it really does not play with the same mindset. It doesn't stop it from feeling stale, like the Jump Ultimate stars game.

This game is surprisingly fun put there is a broken mechanic I found with Raiden that is completely Cheap and brakes the game. but for your SSB fix it's not bad.

Glad you guys enjoyed it but I played this game with a couple of friends and we all agreed that Super Smash Brothers Brawl is a much better experience.
Don't get me wrong, we liked this game but SSBB has more options, modes, character, itens... everything. AND you can punch Princess Peach in the face so.... yeah. lol

Once the DLC launches and the price drops by... maybe €10? I'd definitely get it then, looks like a lot of fun and a pretty solid party-fighter game. :)

Hhmm so a shameless clone of SSB with only 20 no name characters played like a shameless clone of SSB with only 20 no name characters. Surprising...

One more thing "pick up and play" my ass, if I threw my buddy, who's never played this before a controller, and told him to play against me he would go well into the negatives. Super Smash is a much more simplistic brawler, with "default" deaths and much easier controls.

I couldn't disagree with Jeff more, this game takes a ton of time to learn and play properly. Each character plays in a very unique way and there is going to be tons of DLC on the way for more characters. It feels like you guys didn't spend enough time actually playing this game, and even more so, didn't look at the competitive aspects of it.

It would have been cool to have Fei from Xenogears or Brave Fencer Musashi in this game.

If the Happy Hour caused anything to be conversed about, it was the demand for a return of Sir Dan!

I enjoyed previewing this game at NYCC but it was not as fun as it could have been. For one thing, scale and perspective was limiting. Best to save your coin for DMC.
