    Hey Korey ,

    as far as the therapy thing goes,  I'm a little older than you , I think Leon and I are the same age, give or take.

    After the deployments with the national guard, I spent 3 years sitting around the house drinking like a fish and smoking 3 packs a day. last year my wife gave me an option

    Get my ass into therapy

    or get my ass out of her life.  we are moving ashead, making plans now. My daughter is no longer afraid of me,

    So when it comes to seeing a pro to help you solve some issues

    If anyone goes negative on you tell them to kiss your black ass, then tell them to kiss my old white ass, then tell them to kiss co-hosts shiny metallic ass and so on snd so on.

    We aint that tough, some times we need professionals to help us out.

    I meant psychological addiction

    One day I went to some corner fried chicken place and this 13 year old kid ran in asking for some blunt wrappers and the guy sold it to him. This kid was all messed up with red eyes and at that moment I realized he can't hold a job or even pay attention in school because school might interfere with him getting high. I think there is a psychological addition to weed that people don't talk about. In the same way some people can't stop eating fried foods or sugar, these people can't stop using weed. I also think weed makes it way more likely that a person will do other drugs since they already got past the 'fear of trying drugs'.

    I remember when I was high school there was this kid named Nick and Nick would tell me how drunk and messed up he got the previous weekend. Nick would tell me the most retarded stories that never sounded like fun. I then realized that he really didn't have a great time, he was just high or drunk and every little thing seemed like a good time to him.  I imagine if i went to a party with a bunch of drinkers, the drinkers would claim it was a great party when meanwhile, all I observed was a bunch of people standing around having the same boring conversation they always have. Sure , maybe some guy grabbed a girl's titee and she grabbed his crotch cause they were both drunk and could therefore blame their behavior on the booze.

    42:00 - I ride my bike because I want to reduce my carbon footprint. :D I live in Toronto so you don't really need a car to get anyway, so why bother driving? I can afford one, but why spend that much money for no reason?

    No doubt, BLU. I was responding to a comment a few pages back that there are NO ill effects from Marijuana usage and that's NOT necessarily true.

    @Dr. Detfink: I agree that it's at time very specific but it's also anecdotal your story and statistically irrelevant. But it can happen, though not enough to warrant action.

    Some people DO go through serious withdrawal symptoms from weed. It's not often but it does happen. In particular, tachycardia. When I worked detox, I'd have to hit a guy with round the clock ativan just to keep him from hitting 140-160 beats per minute and wandering around...when he ran FULL speed into a wall...the staff was like "OH SHIT." He was a young man from California. Eventually he was fine after a week in the hospital to get control of his heart beat.

    When I first took care of him, I didn't believe it was just marijuana. I had the Utox blood and urine tests ran FIVE times..and no, only the marijuana came back positive.

    Again, it's not on the same level as drugs like cocaine, benzos, opium...and most of the time, it's not going to affect you until you abuse it well into your 40s and 50s...

    But the thing is, we don't know how our bodies react to something and some people are more sensitive than others.

    I work as a retro French character at an amusement park. You gotta abide by certain guidelines for your appearance so the character look is consistent across all the guys playing it. It's not as bad as at Disneyland, where guys playing characters like Jack Sparrow have to be totally clean shaven and wear a standardized fake beard every day. So when I got the job, I opted to just shave my beard and leave my mustache rather than just scrap the whole thing and have to spirit-gum on the fake one every day I work.

    I've taken to waxing my mustache just to keep it kempt, and so I can curl up the corners of it to get the right look for work.

    A lot of the time I forget to take the corners down after I clock out, and in a few instances I've gotten just approached by random-ass strangers who want to compliment me on it. One was a hardcore Redditor-looking motherfucker with cystic acne and bitch tits, and one was a slovenly guy drunk off his ass walking out of a hipsterfied "pub".

    And yeah, both of them called it a "'stache".

    It's like man, don't fucking compliment me on this. I get paid to look like this. I'm not part of your geeky little circles in love with that shitty cartoon handlebar mustache stamp that's all over the damn place. I would not be looking like this for free.

    @Mr Chocolate Bar

    Weed isn't any worse for you than drinking coffee black, or a pint of beer. It has it's negative effects, but it isn't addictive physically ,you can still get emotionally addicted, if you're genetically predisposed to addiction (an easy way to tell is if your parents have problems with alcohol).

    Drinking has always been a social thing for me, if theres alcohol at a party I'll have some, I always make sure I have a ride back (make Muslim friends, aside from being nice people and fun to be around they don't drink therefore make great designated drivers), and I don't get sloppy unless I'm sleeping over or something. I try to stay away from hard liquor like Vodka, I'll have some whiskey now and then. Again this is a social thing, NEVER DRINK ALONE, especially when you're young it leads to alcoholism.

    LSD is something I've done once, its a bucket list type of deal, its a very powerful drug. Don't take it lightly, its not addictive so you don't have to worry about that. Abuse WILL LEAD TO BRAIN CHEMISTRY PROBLEMS, flashbacks and such are SCIENTIFICALLY proven to happen. Point being MODERATION is key, 3-4 times a year, never make it habitual.

    Ecstasy is a party drug, living around big music cities (Dallas, and Austin) I frequent clubs to see bands, you run across it. Honestly I'm trying to stay away from that kind of stuff, it's a little iffy. You should make your own decisions regarding the stuff, remember to be careful as always.

    I go to a REALLY competitive high school, so I see adderall addiction everywhere. I'm staying away from that. But my reasoning isn't all that noble, it's impossible for me to be ranked much higher than I'am (I'm 38th out of 1584 students) so I don't see the need.

    Aside from that, I just don't let drugs define me. (Excuse me for tooting my own horn) I average a 4.345/5.0 GPA, I've gotten a 2250 on my SATs, 34 on ACTs, I'm an AP scholar, and I've gotten acceptance to pretty nice universities. I'm most likely gonna go to Law school so I'll probably be around drugs for a long time, but I think it's good that I got an early knowledge of the stuff so I don't fall into the stuff even worse. Adderall is all but unavoidable in med school and law school, so if you're thinking about either you're gonna have to have an addiction or sacrifice grades, personally I've worked too damn hard to not top my class so I have to.

    Drugs with all things requires trepidation, just be careful. Health Class is really a bunch of bullshit, schools aren't allowed to tell you the truth because of politics. But they aren't COMPLETELY wrong, there are drugs that'll fuck you up (Heroin Coke Meth Bath Salts). My rule of thumb is that if it's addictive don't do it, most reasonable people develop something like this.

    @SERIOUSLY BLACK

    I was one of those people who was scared to death by those health class videos showing what drugs and vd did to people. As a result, I have never once tried marajuana or alcohol. I don't even drink beer or take aspirin. Explain to me how a 17 year old kid has done so many drugs. I am shocked that today people still say, 'ok' when offered drugs. I mean, if somebody says 'hey you want to try bath salts', I run away cause I heard the stories but what makes a person say, 'ok, I will try that'?

    Amazed about Skyfall. Not complaining, though.

  • December 12, 2012 at 12:01 AM, Siriusly Black said ...

    Korey, I'm only 17, but I think I can tell you that regardless of genetics and personality Coke will fuck a person up. I'm like any other kid, I drink, I smoke weed, I've done acid and Ecs but I've had friends who OD'd on coke, and friends who are addicted and don't realize it.

    Even doing it once a year or twice a year is admitting you enjoy it. Right now you're probably fine, but if you ever enter a stressful period you'll be attracted to doing it recreationally. I'm trying to be "that guy" but theres certain drugs where you should draw a line.
