love this game ...only the boss battles were a lil cheesed out..and the story kinda fizzes out...but nothing beats roaming around the jungle taking out bases and dropping off of cliffs and towers with that wing suit ....wish there was more animal types on the island like anacondas, elephant ,rhinos etc etc.....i have the ps3 version of this game but my douche bag friend has the PC version and it looks incredible  plus smooth frame rate ..a must play!

I walked into this game with the mindset of it being a freaky experience and this game didn't disappointed. Granted, I wish Jason Brody would keep his mouth shut, there were many times where I wanted to mute the guy when he was being a jackass in responding to the antagonists and some of the side missions got somewhat repetitive afterward, but the story won me over.

This joke is only for people who do Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu but does Vaas pull rubber guard on you and starts smoking pot at some point in the game? :)

Also, you guys rave about being able to kill sharks and your main character's name is Jason BRODY..... not even a single Jaws joke, really?

Thanks for the great review!  I enjoyed Far Cry 2 a bunch, but it got repetitive with the missions.  It sounds like this game suffers the same problem.

I love the game, but I REALLY don't like the story, nor the characters. Except for Vaas. Vaas was a damn good antagonist, although I think he should've been fleshed out more. I wanted to know more about him and we really only see him for the first half of the game, then it just throws a new antagonist in your face who's really not interesting in my opinion.

I don't like the comparison to Skyrim because this game actually works.

Also, something that I think really needs to be discussed more..... your "friends" that you are trying to rescue.

NONE of them feel like they were worth the effort to save in the first place. Most annoying the clear "love-interest" Liza is the biggest BITCH in the world. I'm going to risk my ass over and over to save the lives of people that "matter" to you/me..... and this bitch wants to ditch them all and get home for some "studio-gig"? Fuck off bitch.

The stealth system is pretty good when it actually works. I had guards able to see through the floor. Guards are able to (sometimes) see bodies through buildings.

So I don't seem like a negative Nancy, I'll end on a positive note. The combat is brilliant  There's nothing like stabbing a dude in the back and then throwing his knife at his friend.

I hired this game and got sick of it when I reached the second island. I was really enjoying it up until then. The first island is definitely better. Hoyt just isn't as cool as Vaas.

I really hate the "Skyrim with guns" comparison.....

Sorry, but where's my "home"? Where's my ability to interact with NPC's for story/connection? Where's my ability to do some kind of love-interest? Where's my ability to customize my character IN ANY DEGREE? Yeah...."Skyrim with guns" is the biggest crock of shit with this game.

But really? It is a full price game, but it's amazing how fast all the "side" stuff just gets boring or useless? Especially the "crafting" part. After you get the 2nd-3rd tier crafted items, you don't really need to bother with it other than restocking your "medical" supplies. I never ran out of weapons/ammo and didn't need the "high-end" stuff.

But biggest tip to anyone that wants to play? Take the time and effort to get those radio towers down QUICKLY..... The "Gun rewards" will save you a shit-ton of money.

I actually did take mushrooms when I was plying this, and I was in the middle of unlocking an outpost when I peaked. That shit was craazzzzzyyyy.
