For some reason I think I'm late on the "Kid Pissing on himself" art Contest, but here it is.

Luckily I bought one of the anniversary Gi Joes that looked like the originals but I went through quite a few when I was young.  The first one lost his legs after the elastic rotted away but that was because I figured the wetsuit was practical.  After that, 2/3rd of them died from being flung into the air to simulate plunging with a broken parachute and one was interrogated with a Creepy Crawler maker (which resembled John Belushi by the time I was finished).  Who knew these things would be worth money today if we actually took care of our toys?  Still, my most wanted GI Joe dolls -- which I probably would have destroyed, too -- were the German, Russian, Japanese and Chinese soldier ones.  Again, this podcast was like walking down memory lane.  Thanks, guys.

Thanks, Balzaak.  I'm laughing inside imagining CoHost watching this with a mug of hot cocoa every year.

First time hearing all 4 of you guys together on a podcast and it not be about movies was a great surprise. I'd love to have more of these but at the same time it wouldn't be special then. So once a year is fine with me.

Finished listening to the podcast and this was just amazing (Especially the exchanging of gifts).  As I said earlier, I hope this becomes a tradition.

    Re-posted also because of typos!

And yes--Micronauts ARE BETTER. Leon, I wish I knew you back in the day...rebooting the Millennium Falcon as the Micronaut ship from the comics? Fucking epicly brilliant move.

Man, coming to this late and was not really thinking this was going to be on my holiday podcast menu, but what a wonderful surprise! I loved vicariously reminiscing through you all---ESPECIALLY Leon's recounting of Kung Fu Grip Anxiety! I had two G.I. Joe's return from the front with their fingers cracked straight off. I also had the undersea set, and took the shark to school one day for show and tell...only to have it stolen.

73:40 - I never got to see that He-Man/She-Ra special, but I heard enough about it.  In retrospect they could know about Christmas on Eternia because He-Man's (and She-Ra's) mother is a human astronaut from Earth. I don't know if they capitalized on that or not.

47:00 - You're in good company.  I was the oldest and had Christmas, but around age 7 when my sisters came along my mom did away with it all.  It was a rough adjustment at first, but I soon realized that she was kinda right on the hypocrisy of the holidays and people breaking their backs and budgets to get gifts for kids only to give recognition to some imaginary fat elf man.  So yeah, I was converted to the ways of giving gifts to loved ones at random times during the year and not being restricted and forced into doing it when some holiday said so.

37:00 - Ooooh, that damn Orko figure.  Okay, I took my collection over a cousin's house and we were playing with figures on the porch.  I launched Orko with that ripcord and he went into the dark abyss of the world underneath the porch.  Orko was never seen again (until I re-bought a MOTU complete collection in my 20's).

I might as well launch into more stories.  I never had any of the playsets or vehicles as a kid as my mom couldn't afford them, but I did eventually obtain most of the figures.  I remember I lusted over that Castle Greyskull and Snake Mountain and when I finally got them in my 20's I was like WTF is this?!  This is what I wanted for so long?  I had them on my shelf in my apartment for a few years, but I realized they were just taking up space so I sold the collection at a flea market.

33:00 - Yeah, I had TONS of the He-Man toys.  I was a huge MOTU and TMNT collector.

32:50 - I never could get Optimus Prime.  I did get some of the repaint versions... like I had a white and blue one who went by another name, but he was Prime in my universe, dammit!

I loved both Soundwave and Shockwave... I never got Shockwave, but by some strong playground trading I finally got Soundwave and most of the cassettes (even the ones for the Autobot counterpart I have no idea what his name was).

27:30 - Thanks Leon... I'm glad SOMEONE else remembers Gremlins was a Christmas movie.  I made a reference to that Phoebe story and no one else remembered it.  :-/
