I disagree sooooo fuckin much about that retro revival rant lol. that said u do have a point, but i love the 80s i cant get enough of that i cant get enough of old school stuff, specially when the new stuff isnt original at all most of the time, id rather watch a fun 80s themed movie than any crappy action\horror shit from now.

warp speed can be obtained if put a switch to a magnetic field in which the rotation of the filed goes faster and faster after time. Once you hit the switch it can propel you.

@Elie S Ducos They sometimes stray into less popukar stuff (like when they reviewed the wonderful 'Mr. Lazhar') but I think they have a lot on their plate with all the mainstream stuff

I allways thought Korey and his team were a little too centered on mainstream US movies. I'd love them to review some CLASSIC shit, like film school classics ! I think it could be really fun to have their opinions on more complex movies, not just entertainment but ART. What do you think ? And If any Spilleoz have interest in European movies / Independent european films (French films for example) I d be glad to talk about it with you ! Did someone watch A prophet ? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1235166/ it s one of France's best movies in a long time ! Dont hesitate to contact me guyz :)

Considering the so called "cyborg" prejudice in Paris Mac Donald:

It's very unusual for us french ppl to be this dumb (really!)... I dont really get it. They might have think that the guy was trying to record footage of them, like a journalist or something. I bet they fought he was some kind of journalist investigating Mac Donald's practices. The funny thing is that, the way it was covered by french journalist was : It's Mac Donalds fault (Amercians fault) because their internal policies are so stiff and stupid like in their country (the USA). When something happens in a french Mac Donalds we tend to put it as "its USA's fault"... We fought against Mac Donalds implentation in France for a long time to preserve french cuisine and culture. Nowadays ppl working there are kind of traitors for us...

I live in a more or less entirely white community myself included, so Spill is the only interaction, minor as it might be, that I have with other racial groups. I find your talks on race to be enlightening, and highly entertaining.

I love Korey but, lately on some of these rants he's starting to sound like old man Coleman more & more these days.

On Korey's rant about our generation, I'm surprised Leon didn't bring up 'Midnight in Paris'. That movie's whole point is we always wrongfully believe the generation we are living is devoid of imagination. Just because something is referencing other work, it does not mean it cannot be done imaginitvely. 'Jackie Brown' is a perfect example, rather than making a straight up adaption, he gave it a blaxploitation twist. Sorry but that is more original than most adaptions. Classic western film 'A Fistful of dollars' was a remake of 'Yojimbo' yet it would be hard for me to state it is not imaginative. Our classic 'Wizard of Oz' is like the 10th adaptation of the book. I am not going to list 100 examples but you get my point

What sets apart Tarantino from Rodriguez is that I can still sense something personal there.  Unless if Tarantino does an introspective character drama, it's still playing off of something that came before.  Rodriguez has becomes just that, maybe there was something more to him in the 90's.  But what works for me is that, emotionally, I can feel something there in Tarantino's work.  I understand what Korey means, but I think the target would be elsewhere in Hollywood.  Remakes are the real death-bed of things.  At least Tarantino can still give us solid actors and dialog.

Even in the 20s and 30s the great Irving Thalberg said "films aren't made, they are remade". All this is nothing new in the film industry Korey!

Reservoir Dogs & Pulp Fiction are in the same universe. Someone from Pulp or Reservoir dogs had a sibling in Basterds.
