Podcasts - THE LEAGUE OF EXTREMELY ORDINARY GENTLEMEN: Volume 9, Issue 8: TV to watch out for in 2013

Or, alternately, I could have called this episode something else equally valid. You'll know it when you hear it. Regardless, The Beerists (aka Grant and Rubio) join us to present the OTHER side of the story of the Vegas awards trip, we all get into tons of upcoming new shows and some classics coming to an end, and a certain Robot sits in for the entirety.

I adore Jennifer Lawrence, and Naomi Watts has been my favorite actress since the first time I saw Mullholland Drive (seriously, she went from, I don't know who that is, to Yes, This IS the Girl, to My Favorite in the course of one movie), but my choice for Sue Storm is Juno Temple.  She's young, but not too young, able to hold the screen or be a supporting player, and she has the looks and the chops to pull it off.  Now... Who should be Reed Richards?  Ten years ago I would have said Jeff Goldblum, but his shelf life has passed for that role.  John Krasczinski, maybe?  I would want the most dysfunctional lookin cast available - Phillip Seymour Hoffman as Ben Grimm!  He would be CGI anyway!  Johnny Storm?  The guy that plays Ryan on Suburgatory.  He's a likeable, impulsive jock.

Great show, guys.  Co-host needs to be a regular LEOG member... at least once a month.  Make it so.  PAY THE ROBOT!!!!  (Especially since he's the only main Spill member who isn't on more than one show)

133:00 - Depending on the age range they go for, I'd take Naomi Watts or Jennifer Lawrence.

100:00 - I like the side characters, but for that season I think they were almost the only good things.  It almost should've been called Debora instead of Dexter.  I did like the kills, but the "twist" was too obvious and telegraphed.  The season was the worst of the bunch.  This season was pretty good except the first episode.

So disappointed Britt couldn't deliver a child sooner, just the concept alone of Grant with his kid strapped to him, Rubio, and the TV Dudes beats the Hangover.

The Korey group therapy session was a riot!

Also, I was glad to see Fringe make up for its rather scatter-shot final season with a great episode last week.  It's great to see a mythology that actually does a good job of coming together at the end, unlike Lost or BSG.

As crazy and intense as Alex acted on the show I do question these drugs like prozac.  I've known people taking these drugs and they seem to not help.

I watch Go On. It's not brilliant but it's diverting enough and it has a strong cast.

You guys forgot to mention that, sadly, this shall be the final season of Spartacus. This season will be entitled War of The Damned and will focus on the full out war between Sparacus's rebel army and the legions of Rome lead by Marcus Crassus. A young Julius Ceasar will also be involved in this final chapter of what is to me one of the greatest TV shows to have ever aired. I know you guys think this show is just an excuse for tits and gore, but your wrong. It has deep and developed characters, exciting plot twists and intense moments of pure tension coupled with a great cast, original dialogue and some of the best choreographed fighting you will see on TV.

Another Show I am VERY interested in watching (after having read the book):

Under The Dome To Premiere June 24th, Will Have Superbowl Ads

Posted on January 12, 2013 by Brendon Connelly

CBS today announced that the show is to air for 13 weeks from June 24th. That’s a Monday, and it’s in the 10-11 slot.

Adapted by Brian K. Vaughan from Stephen King‘s novel, and with Steven Spielberg amongst the producers, the TV mini-series version of Under the Dome has some serious “name” value.

With the first ads due to appear on Superbowl night, we’ll soon start getting a look at what else it has.

I’ll be doing my best to get all of the Superbowl ads up on the site as quickly as I can, so do be sure to come hang around and join in February 3rd. This one in particular is something I’m curious about.
