    Uuuuh, I didn't hear a Full Price at ALL from what you said. You should have been honest and given it a Rental or Bargain Bin, because the rating you gave totally contradicts all the problems you had with the game.

    I agree with Jeff on the fact of finishing one hardcore JRPG & playing another one right after that. But what I would have suggested to Jeff is he should have waited til summer when there's nothing to play to do this, because I Iove JRPGS too but, man can they take it out of you. I love this game & still have a long way to go, but right now I feel like Korey knowing Jeff's gonna piss me off during this review. (I'm just joking, just like Batfan175)

    @ Arsène Lupin the Third It's not a different baddie. The DS game stops at chapter 6 whereas the ps3 game continues in chapter 7

    Poor Jeff this sounds like it brought him to the brink. I half expected him to completely lose control & begin to think the game was real. We would have news story's about him being arrested in the streets of Austin for stabbing people with his stick wand lol.

    If you are sick of the typical Ghibli stuff, I suggest you watch Porco Rosso.  For one thing, the main character is male and in his 40's, not a young girl as usual.  It doesn't really dwell so much in the whole fantasy thing.  It has a tiny bit based on the main character's nature but it just has a bit of a more personal feel.  Watch it in French (even Miyazaki has said that he prefer it over the original Japanese one).  Jean Reno does the main character's voice and his voice matches perfectly.  Michael Keaton does a good job too in the English version, but I just like Reno's voice better.

    I really want to play Ni No Kuni: Jet black mage(the DS one) which is the same set up with a different baddie, making it almost pokemon like.

    Eh, I just didn't love the story all that much. I'm a fan of this type of genre, but the story around it feels generic and underwritten, starting out with one of the biggest cliches of it's type to be the emotional baggage of the game. I will say, however, that the game play was what I wanted in a pokemon game in that your able to control the little creatures movements and their attacks without just saying commands. If that had a better story around it, I would have enjoyed it a bit more.

    I really feel like this game is a perfect example split opinions between people, where we're going to have people like myself who are going to eat this stuff up just by how it brings out that inner child in us who loves classic fantasy, epic quests and animation, and on the other side we,re going to have those of us who had a different kind of heart tugging experience as they were growing up. There's nothing to say who right or wrong just that some of us find it more nostalgic than others.

    the AI is good if you adjust your tactics accordingly. Is it possible to get a guest reviewer who enjoys this genre.. Similar to what you do with sports games.
