    the fact that Jason Murphy liked this was enough to get me to check it out, and I'm glad I did cuz I LOVE THIS GAME... A LOT!

    He gives it the Jason Murphy seal of approval. Note, first Japanese thing he hasn't hated.

    So The Fire Emblem games are kind of like the Suikoden games, where you're character gets an army and you could lose a member of your team forever if he/she dies, maybe effecting the some parts of the story.

    I love Fire Emblem i wish we had some of the older here or at least a remake. I am playing Roy story on the emulator which is the sequel to the American first one. If you guys want to know more about FE watch these videos if you complain the FE games being hard check out the old ones the resent FE are just basic strategy games.

    Seriously, this game rocks! I love it to bits!

    It is barely in stock though for inexplicable reasons. I had to download it through the online store. I have never had that happen before.

    I know I joke, but the story is extremely important to me. It's not that I don't like stories in games, I just don't like the stories that most of them come up with. They all start to run together, just incestuous derivations of each other.

    Fire Emblem is the greatest game on the 3DS, no contest. Plenty of fan service for those of us who have been with the series since the beginning and plenty of features to draw in new players. Highly recommend.

    The game seems to be pretty hard to come by no wonder we have to wait until April 19th over here in Europe... ó_ò

    I agree with C.H Gorog, Jason has really come off as a gamer who doesn't like stories, which can be odd. I am not criticizing him, just pointing that out, it actually comes off as funny.

    @Everyone
    No reason to be shocked by Jason enjoying this franchise.  He is a fan of the original X-Com, Fallout 1 & 2, solid classic CRPGs that used a tactical turn based combat system that was more like chess where Diablo style games are more like Whack-A-Mole.  I could totally see him enjoying the demonic tactical RPGs of the Disgaea series.  FF Tactics while very similar, strikes me more as a Prof. Jeff game with all the menus, upgrades, and extensive job system.

    @C.H. Gorog
    I would not say that, it is just that most stories are very much full of video game tropes.  So when he says, "Video game, video game, video game" it is used to say, this is a story you have heard many times before mostly designed to move the game along.

    Anybody else see how much of a negative disposition Jason has to stories in video games?

    Great game. Though combat could get repetitive towards the end I thought.

    Has hell finally frozen over, or did Jason really say he liked a Japanese game & gave it a full price?

    Oh also you said that there are 13  Fire emblem games, sadly there are far less here in the US because,  they dont sell like they do in japan, Oh and the DLC island that Jason talked about does have a lot of DLC but some of the new levels and characters are free, and nintendo already said they are releasing more free DLC which is nice

    I was thinking of writing a review to this a while back but ive been too busy, with all my free time going to this game. One thing he didn't mention was the Support system is enhanced by the Marriage/Children mechanic. With time travel involved, it turned into a Breeding mechanic for me. Pairing up certain characters to beef up the children became my obsession.

    As far as the DLC, it is the best use I have ever seen from Nintendo, and even from other systems. There is free DLC that gives you bonus missions, characters, and items. The paid DLC is the kind that is optional but rewarding. For example, one set gives you access to missions that give huge rewards in either Gold, EXP, or Weapons. Other sets also give you Characters, but unlike the free versions, these have stronger stats and abilities unlocked.

    It took me 2 weeks to find a copy of this game after release, this was due to a shipping error from Nintendo that even caused some people who preordered to not get their copies. Once i got mine, i couldn't put it down. One minor complaint is the difficulty can spike if you don't level your characters evenly. Very easy to jump in, very rewarding to those who put in the time, I've put 100 hours in.

    This and Persona are one of the few JRPGs that i actually love, and this fire emblem is easily my favorite one ever made. For me it is a high high full price, thanks for the review!
