People complain when he posts a "Sorry for the delay on the show" message... maybe he just figures either way someone is gonna complain, and we'll get a new show when we get it. If that's the case, I can't blame him for it.

@Korey You're discussion of how people don't see animation as mature is what makes me sad. Even though I know there are a lot of bad animes like the big 3 shounen jump shows yet the most mature anime (and by mature I mean it doesn't have ungodly amount of fanservice) is Fate/Zero but sadly most modern anime isn't like this one. And the go to one is Cowboy Bebop of course!

I just want to point out that my description of white flight is a general one. There were other factors that effected Detroit in addition to white flight. You will also notice that damn near every black neighborhood is a hand me down white neighborhood. WHites have the benefit of having higher incomes to maintain their areas and the fact that they often move into brand new, newly built areas while blacks often occupy used areas. If you have a 2013 honda accord and I have a 1993 accord , it is not fair to compare the condition of your car to the condition of mine, ten years from now.

White people being irrationally terrified of blacks, despite the fact that they had good reason in the past; the White Flight phenomenon was caused by Black criminality among the prole class that sent both genteel, middle-class Whites and Blacks fleeing from their neighborhoods (Detroit is the exemplary example, and I think the South Side of Chicago, though I’m not entirely knowledgeable here).
You need to read up on white flight. The reality is that when white neighborhoods got up to around 10 percent black, whites started leaving not because of crime but because they had this racist irrational fear of blacks. The blacks who come into these areas are often better educated , behaved and more responsible than the average whties that live there . When the whites flee, they create a vacuum that allowed people w ho normally wouldn't be able to live there, living there due to the reduced prices of homes caused by the vacuum of whites leaving. When I say vacuum, I mean that when an area turns black, the vast majority of potential white buyers dries up and whites will either rent to other blacks who are below that area's normal standard. They will also sell low and that is why black people who normally couldn't afford to live there move in. this combination of renters and people who normally wouldn't be able to afford the area in addition to people who rent rather than people who own , leads to the decline of the area. What I am saying is if whites didn't run out of racist fear, the neighborhoods would have remained the same since only blacks in the same class would have been able to move in. In the case of Detroit, whites were the first to leave because they could afford to leave, blacks moved in to w hite areas because whites ran and left the same vacuum. When blacks moved it, Detroit was already on a financial decline. Whites like you then try to blame the decline on blacks moving in. Detroit declined because factories were shut down, get real.

I live on the east coast and can tell you that cops aint shit up here. They are still racist. If you are black and driving through any town, you can get pulled over for driving while black. Cops are always running black men's plate numbers through their computers looking for a reason to pull you over. If you go to white town traffic courts up here you will see them filled with mostly black and Hispanics. They follow you, pull you over with pistols in their hand etc. I live right next to Newark NJ so i know this. I can tell you over a dozen stories of racist cops that I ran into. In NYC, they stop and frisk black kids ten times as much as white kids even though white kids are more likely to yield a subsequent arrest. They target black men and the whiter the town, the more likely they are to do this to you. I am in my 40's and due to my bad experience with cops, I have to avoid going down certain highways like rt 22 because it goes through certain white towns where cops are known to mess with black men. I always avoid local roads and stick to main highways as much as I can to avoid those sons of bitches. Every black man's nightmare is going through some all white southern town and getting pulled over by some racist white cops cause we all know that most whites doubt us when we say racism was involved. It's sad that in 2013 a black man has to avoid certain roads out of fear of cops. You will find this sentiment among many black men our age. We have all had our fair share of racist cops f*cking with us. When we were kids, there was no focus on this stuff in the media and black people couldn't get their stories on the news but now with the way media works, it often gets focused on although in most cases, it doesn't get focused on at all. In many ways, things haven't changed much since before the 50's when a black man had to watch where he went. There are many white racists out there and many work for the police department and the courts.

@VinnyLT i didn t like akira the movie much because there were some scenes i love in the manga, that were beautiful 'wow! set pieces' that did n t make it to the movie (tetsuo discovering akira for example, big pages wide wallapaperto be) and i found the movie weaker because of it. and don t get me started on the fucked up ending of the movie even if the mange wasn t finished yet at the time and the real (manga) ending maybe not in the head of mr.Otomo yet.
ANYWAY.
IF ANY OF YOU LOVED AKIRA, PLEASE READ DÔMU.
it isn t as action filled as akira but maybe the only 'other' good manga from mr.otomo.
(i mean, i like mother sarah, but even for me it is waaaaaayyyytoo dark).

i used to love miyazaki for kiki, porco rosso and mononoke, but i discovered the OTHER ghibli director people often, too often forget about: takahata.
he doesn t seem to make anything now but back then in the 90s, omoide poroporo, umi ga kikoeru and my fav of allhis work mimi wosumaseba. to me ghibli is like spielberg(big movies noticed by the public and remembered) and wes anderson(more intimate, more of a voyage with/inside one self).
another director whom i think might just be the 'new' ghibli: the man behind toki wo kakeru shojo and summer wars.
summer wars particularly embraces things that i doubt ghibli would ever(hence my 'new ghibli ' statement): new tech internet etc. summer wars kind of joins what a lot of people have been saying of japan: the joining of high end tech and tradition. that movie is fantastic.

Couldn't have Korey sued ACL for that injury? I mean, the way he described it, the event's staff had some poor guiding skills. I would have also went to the hospital before I trusted a band-aid.

Isn’t a fair portion of modern Rap pretty much course and retarded? Or is that just mainstream Rap? The songs played on radio sometimes have rappers just mumbling through rhymes, glorifying the basest behavior around.
I think Austin’s only like 8% Black, so you wouldn’t notice a lot of black people even at Hip-Hop concerts.
Romney actually won the youth vote among whites; was crushed among blacks and Hispanics. But whites are the quintessential elastic voting bloc, so I see that as more impressive.
Sometimes I think Korey and Leon don’t recognize how racialist they sound. I’m not trying to treat your off-hand opinions with ridicule, but the worldview you both share is quite stereotypical of an aggrieved Black person. Such as White people being irrationally terrified of blacks, despite the fact that they had good reason in the past; the White Flight phenomenon was caused by Black criminality among the prole class that sent both genteel, middle-class Whites and Blacks fleeing from their neighborhoods (Detroit is the exemplary example, and I think the South Side of Chicago, though I’m not entirely knowledgeable here).
Leon’s old story about being afraid of White cops out in the middle of BFE, Texas exemplifies this too. You don’t have anything to fear from White cops in the South. In modern-day America, any perceived act of racism by a White person toward a Black person would be inflated to an immeasurable degree. Just look at the Trayvon Martin case last year. Nevertheless, the specific acts are virtually nonexistent. Racist attacks almost always turn on to be hoaxes, oddly enough planned and perpetrated by women more often than not.
This is mostly irrelevant to my comment, but these two articles might be a splash of cold water to the face if you care to read them. The columns don’t relate to the show, but they came to mind as good elixir for dispelling some of the more pronounced delusions about race in America.
The first is a short review on the book White Girl Bleed a Lot, a book about recent spats of racial violence committed against groups of Whites. The words in that peculiar title were uttered by one Black assailant after punching a girl in the face. And y’all really think Blacks are being preyed upon? The book is best read in an e-book format.
And here’s a column depicting two recent incidents of supposed racism; the first turned out to be an utter misrepresentation and the latter had nothing to do with White on Black racism at all, but since the story occurred in the South that narrative was adopted anyway.
Again, not trying to take your off-hand remarks way off base, just giving my opinion about what I hear.

I'm with you on the Burger King Korey, I've always loved it especially the ketchup! But mostly it was because I used to go there with my best friend when we were kids almost every weekend. We'd always trade toys and everything! Though he moved before the 5th grade and I haven't seen him in 11 years.
