I truly understand the disappointment for all the Marvel-animes. Wolverine especially was just plain bad. I'll save everyone the trouble by summarizing the story;
Logan had a girlfriend during his time in Japan and he learns she's being married off to the mafia. After that it's just 12 episodes of drawn out, poorly directed action scenes as he tries to get through a bunch of henchmen that never even pose a threat since none of them have any abilities that can stop him.
The first half of the X-Men series was the only one that I found genuinly entertaining.
Every series credits Warren Ellis as the writer. My guess is that the minimalistic story was due to him alone having to write stories for four seperate series under such a short notice, thus he probably didn't have enough time to put much thought into the pacing, characters etc.
