Kevin Grevioux played the Lycon Raze, who is a microbiologist in the field of genetic engineering, was the writer of the first underworld.  Which started as the premise broken down to the cellular level of the blood gene, but Hollywood rushed the second and went to a total different direction just to make money!

Underworld (the trilogy atleast) is one of those movies that I go in, hoping to be surprised since its vampires and werewolves...and each time they become almost completely forgettable.

HONESTLY...the only things I can remember is the lycans escaping from prison in the 3rd one...a really bloody death with the underwhelming villain from the 2nd movie...and the...nevermind I dont even remember a single memorable part from the 1st one!!!

and yet...I ended up seeing each one of them in the theater :/ I think it was because, it has vampires, werewolves, Rated R...and its one of those (at the time) perfect matinee movies. If I'm not working due to weather...I like going to the theater since nobody is there, its cheaper, and it gets my mind off of things.

As boring and dull as these movies are...there are FAR worse out there, still though there's nothing great about them. But I'll admite, I'll be seeing this at a matinee. Because the trailer looks better than all the previous movies, it takes place more in the city so it will atleast look slick, and looks like some decent set pieces.

It MIGHT just make up for the last 3, because really the most I remember about them was the color. Although the 3rd was pretty much the best, its all blue/greyish, worn out looking...and I know it could be to add the bleakness to it, but no...its because its cheap lol.

It's similar to Contraband (not the story obviously) being a movie that I don't expect to be great...but looks decent enough to see while the kids are in school, while I'm not doing anything else, and just want to see some cool looking stuff, hopefully be surprised and end up recommending it.

Contraband and Safe House are two good examples of "action" movies that atleast have some kind of plot, and looks like a decent director / casting director was picked for both...plus Kate Beckinsale is in Contraband and from the trailer looks like she is actually acting, lately she hasnt felt like it much.

I put this movie in the same category as the other underworld movies, resident evil movies and all the blade movies. a dumb action movie to watch on dvd

That little girl was a vampire (Vampires age slow). Co-host is DEAD ON about that disrespect towards the first two Blade movies. Personally, to me, the Blade movies (specifically the first two), were the movies to REALLY begin the trend of constant comic-book movies making their way on the big screen. That's the thing about this frachise (or at least the character of Selene). Funny that you mention appeal because Selene, to me, is a straight-up RIPOFF. Don't get me wrong. Kate Beckensale is HOT. But as far as her character, I could NEVER connect with her because many of us (some won't admit it) know where the idea for that character was STOLEN from. Len Wiseman watched too much Blade and the Matrix. It's pretty much like Blade bumped into Morpheus and ended up taking the RED pill, and when he jacked into the Matrix he had a brief affair with Trinity (with Neo kept totally in the dark) and they had a kid (and NOW we have this franchise).

I'll never understand what the appeal is with the first Blade movie. It has two and a half fight scenes total. One in the beginning, one in the end (both of which aren't bad), and a "half" a scene somewhere in the middle with some little girl throwing kicks at a Blade with no reason or need to fight back. Other than that I could go without the other hour and a half of exposition about little to nothing.

Anyways, I'll be checking this movie out with reserved expectations. I enjoyed the other 3 for what they were worth although in the right hands I believe the whole series could have been fleshed out so much better.

if you would have ask me 9 years ago about underworld i would have said great movie.but over time i see the idea as great but not properly excused.i mean the vamp/wolf hybrid should have been bad ass but he is more of a pussy.i mean he went from being a savior to being saved.i think that vamp/wolf should have been on par with selene.

here is my take.first movie matrix with werewolves and vampires the second just stupid i mean the half werewolf and half vampire dude from the first movie was treated like a pussy.like the first one selene had come in and rescue him. what is the the point.both the first and the second treated the hybrid like a savior and he can't  even save himself.the three went up on the action but stayed the same or when down on everything else.when you guys where talking about kate Beckinsale ass i thought of the movie idiocracy where theirs a movie called ass but to be fair if their is going to be a movie called and staring ass then it should be kate's
