This looks and sounds better than that dumb copy-cat being talked about "here there be monsters". the name alone sounds like a little kid's movie, only based around John Paul. Talk about a random mismatch just to put together a crappy story.

They must have said "hmmm Abe Lincoln and vampires? HOW ABOUT we do John Paul killing other, more boring monsters? YEAAAA now thats an idea"

Maybe this will be good...since I atleast like the history of Lincoln...and adding vampires makes it sound pretty fun, but Hollywood is gonna go through this type of phase...take a historical figure, and add in hmmmm monsters lol.

I know this is based on a book or whatever..and actually has a reason to be made, but some of those other ones being talked about sound like a complete waste of time and money.

    "Hey, think of an idea...QUICK"

"ok, ok...how about Benjamin Franklin hunting down the chupacabra? YEA!!!"

"wait, also how about we take Princess Diane fighting a dragon!...nah too soon"

"OH I know...how about Rosa Parks vs. Cyclops!!!! OH YEA!!! little brainless kids will love that!"

Atleast vampires 'can be' badass and interesting. sea creatures (like that one being talked about 'here there be monsters') are just too boring imo. Unless its Cthulu I dont give a rat's ass lol. Even zombies are always cool, they might not have a brain, but they are people, and can atleast add either excitement or emotion depending on how they are handled...sea creatures? BORING lol (then again it has nothing to do with this movie luckily...but it does have plenty to do with taking a random historical figure and adding random monsters to the story). Yea its something different like this movie here...but you dont have to add silly monsters to make it "different"..most of the time it just makes it "shitty".

@Vampwatch 2010 The trailer that you mentioned is the promotional trailer for the novel. There are plenty of trailers for novels. Quirk Books seems to have one for all of their works. It was not until recently when I found out that Quirk Books did not publish Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

Here's an Idea for a movie, "Israel Bissell Drives Angry 3D", or should I just use Paul Revere because it sounds better??

Thank you, Leon, for mentioning Tarsem Singh and Zack Snyder. That's exactly what I thought when I saw this trailer, and it absolutely made me not want to see this.

BTW, Trent Reznor is not involved with this film.  He was in talks to do the score and play the vampire that killed Lincoln's mom but those plans fell through.

The actor Benjamin Walker had a small role in the movie Kinsey as the 19- year old version of Proc Kinsey, and the adult Kinsey was played by Liam Neeson. This movie also will make a great prequel to Steven Speilberg's Lincoln.

Is that Johnny Cash's voice at the beginning of the trailer? So Lincoln shot the man in reno just to watch him die.

It would be cool if this movie had a sort of a ken burns est voice over for the letters and journal entries to at least give the movie realism.
